Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention provides a method for detecting drowsy driving including a learning step for calculating basic features based on the information of steering torque and lateral displacement for a first period and calculating a basic threshold value based on the basic features for a second period; and an evaluation step for calculating current features based on the information of the steering torque and lateral displacement for a third period, calculating a current threshold value based on the current features for a fourth period, and determining drowsy driving by comparing the current threshold value with the current features. Therefore, the method for detecting drowsy driving can improve the accuracy in detecting drowsy driving when a vehicle is driven at high speed, in comparison with an existing method determining based on a steering angle, by utilizing changes in signals of the steering torque and lateral displacement to determine drowsy driving.
