    Abstract: A flow control valve for a power steering pump is provided to increase durability of a spool valve by forming an orifice plug on the rear of a spool valve to place an orifice and to increase power assist force in a low-speed RPM section by setting up the effective length of a needle variably. The flow control valve(V) for a power steering pump comprises a housing(13) having a cylindrical space(11) closed at one side, a spring(15) inserted to the closed end of the housing, a spool valve(21) pressurized by the spring and guided to the inner circumferential surface of the housing to move forward and backward and provided with a needle(17) for flow control to vary the effective length(L) and an orifice(19) to place in an orifice plug(27) attached on the rear of the spool valve additionally, a cylindrical needle guider(23) formed on an opening of the housing and guiding the needle, and a fitting bolt(25) coupled to the opening of the housing, provided with a working port(P1) connected with a power booster and fixing the needle guider.
