    Abstract: A rubber elastic block copolymer has at least one block A made of polymerise d units of a vinyl aromatic monomer that forms a hard phase and/or a block B with diene monomers that forms a first rubber elastic (soft) phase, and at least one elastomer block B/A with polymerised units of both a vinyl aromatic monomer and a diene that for ms if required a second or additional soft phase. The glass transition temperature T g of block A is higher than 25 .degree.C and that o f blocks B or B/A is lower than 25 .degree.C. The phase volume ratio between blocks A and B/A is selected so that the hard phase represents 1 - 40 % by volume of the total block copolymer and the diene amounts to less than 50 % by weight.

    Abstract: Rubber-elastic block copolymers of at least one hard block A consisting of styrene monomers and at least one elastomeric block (B/A) of styrene monomers and containing dienes, the glass temperature T g o f block A being over 25 .degree.C and that of block B/A is under 25 .degree.C and the phase volume ratio between block A and block B/A being such that the proportion of the hard phase in the entire block copolymer is 1 to 40 vol %, and the proportion by weight of the diene is und er 50 wt.%. The relative proportion of 1,2 bonds of the polydiene in relation to the sum of 1,2 and 1,4 cis/trans-bonds is under 15 %, process for their production by anionic polymerisation by means of lithium alkyl in a non-polar solvent in the presence of a soluble potassium salt and their use for the production of mouldings.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a process for preparing an impact-modified plastic based on grafted crosslinked rubber particles, and also to an impact-modified plastic obtainable by the process. To prepare the impact-modified plastic, (a) particles of a crosslinked rubber are produced from a first monomer mixture which has a content of at least 50% by weight, preferably at least 90% by weight, particularly preferably at least 98% by weight, of diene compounds. The particles of the crosslinked rubber are (b) grafted with a second monomer or monomer mixture, with formation of a graft shell. Particles of the grafted crosslinked rubber are (c) added to a third monomer mixture, and the monomers of the third monomer mixture (d) are polymerized, with formation of a matrix. The process of the invention is simple to carry out and gives impact-modified plastics with very good mechanical properties.
