Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an ink holding member used in the supply of ink to a printing head. CONSTITUTION:In the ink holding member composed of urethane foam inserted in an ink supply container, the urethane foam has a volume swelling ratio of 5-60% with respect to ink. Even when the urethane foam whose volume is slightly smaller than the inner volume of the container is inserted, the urethane foam is swollen by the ink when the container is filled with the ink and the container is uniformly filled with the urethane foam. Therefore, even when the container is shaken, the ink in the container can be always discharged from a discharge port by constant quantity without being sloshed.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the back light which has high luminance and high uniformity whose structure is simple and which is easily manufactured without necessitating complicated man-hour for assembly by forming at least the inner surface of a light transmission plate and a fluorescent tube from a light reflecting material and housing them at the inside of a case where a part opposed to a light emission surface is opened. SOLUTION: This back light is an edge light type back light in which the fluorescent tube 2 is disposed on the side of one end surface 1a of the light transmission plate 1, and the light of the fluorescent tube 2 is made incident at the inside of the light transmission plate 1 from one end surface 1a and the incident light is emitted from the light emission surface 1b of the light transmission plate 1. At least the inner surfaces of the light transmission plate 1 and the fluorescent tube 2 are formed from the light reflecting material, and are housed in the inside of the case 3 where the part opposed to the light emission surface 1b is opened. Then, the light transmission plate 1 constituted of a transparent resin, where the light reflecting material, for instance, light reflecting paint is dot-printed on the rear surface 1c on the opposite side to the light emission surface 1b for the purpose of uniformizing in-plane luminance distribution, is used.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a flexible polyurethane foam developing no scorch even if incorporated with no discoloration-proofing agent, and having further excellent nonyellowability, by reaction between a polyol and an aliphatic or alicyclic polyisocyanate in the presence of a combination of specific two kinds of catalyst. SOLUTION: This flexible polyurethane foam is obtained by subjecting a system described below to reaction. The system is composed of (A) a polyol (e.g. polyether polyol), (B) an aliphatic or alicyclic polyisocyanate (pref. 3- isocyanatomethyl 3,5,5-trimethylhexyl isocyanate), (C) a tin-based catalyst as metallocatalyst (e.g. stannous octoate) and (D) a tertiary amine catalyst as amine-based catalyst (pref. dimethylaminoethyl ether or triethylenediamine) [and a conventional amidino group-bearing amine, pref. 1,8-diazabicyclo(5,4,0) undecene-7], (E) water, (F) a foam stabilizer, and (G) other auxiliary(ies).

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain the low-staining and flame-retardant polyurethane foam little in a fogging phenomenon and in the discoloration of the foam ground, and useful for furnitures, etc., by using a polyol, a polyisocyanate, water, a metal catalyst, an amine catalyst and a halogen-free flame retardant. CONSTITUTION: This low staining and flame retardant polyurethane foam is produced from (A) a polyol such as a polyesterpolyol, (B) a polyisocyanate such as tolylene diisocyanate, (C) water, (D) a foaming agent such as trichlorofluoromethane, (E) a metal catalyst such as cuprous octenate, (F) an amine catalyst having one or more functional groups, such as dimethylaminohexanol, and (G) a halogen-free flame retardant such as a tricresylphosphate of the formula (R1 -R3 are H, alkyl). The components G and F are used in amounts of 1-40 pts.wt. and 0.1-2 pts.wt., respectively, based on 100 pts.wt. of the component A.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To lower sounds generated when a curtain is opened or closed by fastening a foaming sheet having a smooth skin layer on the surface thereof with a specified expansion ratio (low expansion ratio) on a running surface on which wheels run to hang the curtain. CONSTITUTION:A curtain rail made up of a combination of a curtain rail frame 1 and a plurality of wheels 2 to hang a curtain in the frame 1 is provided with a urethane foam (1mm thick) with a surface skin as skin layer at the part of a running surface 3 to function as soundproof layer. The polyurethane foam sheet has an expansion ratio two to ten fold, preferably two to five fold and obtained by mixing bubble by a mechanical agitation. The apparent density of the sheet herein used is 0.2-0.6g/cm , the hardness under a compression load of 25%, 0.2-4.5kg/cm , the cell diameter, 200mum or less and the friction coefficient by ASTM-D1894, 0.8-3.0.

CONSTITUTION:The objective sealant thermally expandable and capable of filling a gap thereby is produced by uniformly dispersing an inert gas into a liquid composition containing (A) a compound having two or more active hydrogens, (B) an organic polyisocyanate compound, (C) a foam stabilizer and (D) a foaming agent with mechanical stirring, molding the resultant foam composition and thermosetting the molded foam at a temperature lower than the decomposition temperature of the component (D). In addition, as the component (A) in the objective sealant, a polydiene-based polyol or a polyolefin-based polyol respectively having OH at the terminal is preferably used in an amount of >=50 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. component (A).
