    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to transmitting and receiving a beam report at a UE and a base station. The base station can configure a cDRX cycle with the UE. Also, the UE can wake up during an off period of the cDRX cycle. The UE can also compare a first metric of at least one of a plurality of candidate beams and a second metric of a current beam for communication with the base station. Additionally, the UE can transmit a beam report to the base station, during the off period, based on the comparison of the first metric of the at least one of the plurality of candidate beams and the second metric of the current beam. The UE can also select, during the off period of the cDRX cycle, the at least one of the plurality of candidate beams for communication with the base station.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for efficiently determining whether to transmit an uplink transmission scheduled by a semi-static grant or a dynamic uplink transmission scheduled by a dynamic grant when the dynamic uplink transmission conflicts with the uplink transmission scheduled by the semi-static grant. In particular, if a user equipment (UE) determines that a dynamic grant is received within a threshold time before an uplink transmission scheduled by a semi-static grant, the UE may transmit the uplink transmission scheduled by the semi-static grant and refrain from transmitting the dynamic transmission. Alternatively, if the UE determines that a dynamic grant is received in advance of a threshold time before an uplink transmission scheduled by a semi-static grant, the UE may transmit the dynamic transmission and refrain from transmitting the uplink transmission scheduled by the semi-static grant.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a first slot format configuration for a first serving cell for a set of transmission time intervals (TTIs) including a first TTI and receive a second slot format configuration for the first serving cell for the first TTI which is different from the first slot format configuration. The UE may determine, based on priorities of the slot format configurations, a first communication direction for the first serving cell for the first TTI. The UE may identify, for a second serving cell for the first TTI, a second communication direction indicated by one or more slot format configurations for the second serving cell. The UE may determine whether to communicate on the second serving cell for the first TTI according to the one or more slot format configurations for the second serving cell.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for uplink preemption indication. A method for wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving at least one ULPI from a base station (BS) indicating, for each of a plurality of sets of uplink resources, a power level the UE can use for one or more uplink transmissions. The UE can determine one or more power levels indicated by the ULPI for resources allocated for the UE for uplink transmission. The allocated resources may include multiple of the sets of uplink resources. The UE can select the power level to use for uplink transmission using the allocated resources based, at least in part, on the determination. The UE sends or drops the one or more uplink transmissions according to the ULPI. A time duration of the plurality of sets of uplink resources can be longer than a configured ULPI monitoring periodicity.

A method generally receiving a channel state information (CSI) report trigger that schedules the wireless device to transmit a CSI report and an uplink (UL) grant that schedules the wireless device to transmit UL data, determining, based on the CSI report trigger and the UL grant, that transmission of the CSI report and the UL data will collide, deciding, based on at least one of an indication of a relative timing between the CSI report transmission and the UL data transmission or an indication of a type of CSI report to be transmitted, to drop one of the CSI report or the UL data from transmission, and transmitting one of the CSI report or the UL data based on the decision.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the disclosure relate to reporting power headroom of an apparatus such as a user equipment (UE). For an apparatus that uses beamforming, the power headroom associated with the beam the apparatus is using for wireless communication (e.g., with a base station) may be lower than the power headroom associated with another beam that the apparatus could use for the wireless communication. The disclosure relates in some aspects to using one beam for wireless communication and using the power headroom for another beam for a power headroom report. In this way, the apparatus may always report its full transmit power capability.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to communication systems, and more particularly, to interpreting a timing advance (TA) command for members of a timing advance group (TAG), such as different uplink component carriers and/or different bandwidth parts, having different numerologies, such as different subarrier spacing (SCS). A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a base station (BS), a TA command. The UE interprets the TA command differently for different members of a same TAG, associated with different numerologies. The UE applies a timing adjustment when transmitting an uplink transmission to the BS based, at least in part, on the interpretation.
