Abstract: A hydrophilic material comprising a copolymer composed of a monomer (A) having a polyalkylene oxide unit and a polymerizable carbon-carbon double bond in its molecule, a methacrylate or acrylate monomer (B) and another monomer (C) having a polymerizable carbon-carbon double bond in its molecule, which material is characterized by containing the monomer (C) in the proportion of 10 to 90 % by weight. The invention provides a hydrophilic material which is soluble, readily moldable, and excellent in antithrombotic and antifouling properties, and further provides an antithrombotic material and a semipermeable membrane. These materials can be appropriately used in the medical field and as water-absorbent and antifouling materials.

Abstract: Un módulo de membranas de fibra hueca que comprende: un haz de membranas de fibra hueca que está compuesto de membranas de fibra hueca de un material de polisulfona o polietersulfona, teniendo cada membrana de fibra hueca, en una superficie de la misma que debe estar en contacto con la sangre, un polímero de copolimerización hidrófilo que tiene un tiempo de relajación de agua adsorbida de 2,5 x 10-8 segundos o inferior y 5,0 x 10-10 o superior a -40 °C, en donde el tiempo de relajación del agua adsorbida en el polímero de copolimerización hidrófilo se obtiene mediante una medición de relajación dieléctrica medida de acuerdo con el método divulgado en la descripción; una carcasa de cuerpo principal (10) en la que se almacena el haz de membranas de fibra hueca; paredes divisorias (30,32) que permiten que el haz de membranas de fibra hueca se mantenga en un estado hermético a los líquidos en ambos extremos de la carcasa de cuerpo principal mientras se mantienen las caras del borde de la parte hueca (31,33) en un estado abierto; y colectores (21,23) que están unidos respectivamente a ambos extremos de la carcasa de cuerpo principal y a través de los cuales se puede introducir y extraer sangre; en donde la velocidad de llenado de la membrana de fibra hueca en cada una de las zonas A a H, que son zonas producidas dividiendo una zona situada entre una posición correspondiente al diámetro interno D0 de cada uno de los colectores (21,23) y una posición separada 1 mm de la posición mencionada hacia la periferia interna en 8 partes equiangulares iguales con el centro del eje de la carcasa de cuerpo principal ya que su centro en una cara de borde (31,33) de cada una de las paredes divisorias (30,32) en un lado opuesto a cada uno de los colectores (21,23), está dentro del intervalo del 13 al 40 %, y en donde la velocidad de llenado en la parte del cuerpo de la carcasa de cuerpo principal (10) está dentro del intervalo del 53 % al 64 %, en donde la velocidad de llenado de la membrana de fibra hueca en cada una de las zonas A a H en las caras del borde (31,33) y la velocidad de llenado en la parte del cuerpo se miden respectivamente como se describe en la descripción.

Abstract: Un sustrato modificado que comprende un polímero hidrófilo, en donde el sustrato se compone de un material polimérico que es una polisulfona o copolímeros de la misma y el polímero hidrófilo que es una polivinilpirrolidona o un copolímero de polivinilpirrolidona, en donde la relación de polímero hidrófilo soluble, medida tal como se describe en la memoria descriptiva, es del 15 por ciento en peso o menos y un número de plaquetas de sangre humana adherida adheridas en un área de 4,3x103 μm2, medido tal como se describe en la memoria descriptiva, es de 10 o menos, y la relación de polímero hidrófilo en superficie, medida tal como se describe en la memoria descriptiva, es de al menos el 20 por ciento en peso, estando definido el número de plaquetas de sangre adheridas como el número de plaquetas de sangre adheridas sobre la superficie del sustrato modificado cuando se pone en contacto con la sangre durante una hora y en donde el sustrato se puede obtener mediante la irradiación con radiación con una dosis absorbida de al menos 20 kGy, al tiempo que el sustrato se pone en contacto con una solución acuosa del polímero hidrófilo y un antioxidante seleccionado de un alcohol, un sacárido o una sal inorgánica.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a fractionation device used for proteins and/or peptides, which has any of the following features: 1) At least one portion of a substrate surface with which proteins or the like are made in contact has an amount of adsorption of bovine serum albumin of 50 ng/cm2 or less with respect to the substrate surface, when a bovine serum albumin solution is made in contact therewith. 2) At least one portion of a substrate surface with which proteins or the like are made in contact has an amount of adsorption of human .beta.2-microglobulin of 3 ng/cm2 or less with respect to the substrate surface, when a protein aqueous solution consisting of human .beta.2-microglobulin and bovine serum albumin is made in contact with the substrate surface. 3) The fractionation device is provided with: a means for supplying a solution containing proteins or the like; a means for separating proteins or the like from the solution; and a means for concentrating proteins or the like in the solution, and in the fractionation device, at least one portion of the substrate surface with which proteins or the like are made in contact is subjected to a grafting process by using a hydrophilic polymer. By using the above-mentioned device, it becomes possible to reduce non-peculiar adsorption of protein onto the substrate, and consequently to easily provide a sample from which proteins having high-molecular weights have been removed, and which is advantageously used for an analysis.
