    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing 1-substituted 5- and/or 3- hydroxypyrazoles of formulas (I) and (II), wherein R1 represents C1-C6-alkyl, C2-C6-alkenyl, C2-C6-alkinyl, C3-C6-cycloalkyl or C1 - C4-alkoxy, whereby these groups can be substituted by halogen, C1-C4-alkoxy, phenoxy, C1-C6-alkoxycarbonyl, C1-C6-alkylthiocarbony l or a cyclic ring system with 3-14 ring atoms, by reacting a 3-alkoxyacrylic acid alkyl ester of formula (III), wherein R2, R3 independently mean C1-C6-alkyl or C3-C6-cycloalky, with a hydrazine of formula (IV), wherein R1 has the above cited meaning, a) at a pH value of 6- 11 to form 5-hydroxypyrazoles of formula (I), or b) at a pH value of 11-14 to form 3-hydroxypyrazoles of formula (II).

    Abstract: La presente invencion se refiere a un metodo para combatir plagas animales que comprende contactar las plagas animales, su habitat, zona de reproduccion, suministro de alimentos, planta, semilla, tierra, area, material o entorno donde las plagas animales crecen o pueden crecer, o los materiales, plantas, semillas, suelos, superficies o espacios a ser protegidos de ataques o infestaciones animales, con una cantidad efectiva para uso plaguicida de al menos un compuesto I con estructura de 1-(1,2-difenil-etil)-3-(2-hidroxietil)-tiourea de la formula (ver formula I) o una sal aceptable para uso en agricultura del mismo, donde m es 0 a 5, n es 0 a 5, R3 y R4 son H o alquilo, haloalquilo, cicloalquilo, fenilo o bencilo opcionalmente sustituidos, R7, R8, R9 y R10 son H o alquilo-C1-C6, haloaquilo-C1-C6, alquilamino-C1-C6, alcoxi-C1-C6, cicloalquilo-C3-C6, fenilo o bencilo opcionalmente sustituidos y las variables R1, R2, R5 y R6 son lo definido en las reivindicaciones. La presente invencion tambien se refiere a un metodo para proteger las cultivos del ataque o infestacion de plagas animales, un metodo para proteger materiales no vivos del ataque o infestacion de plagas animales, compuestos con estructura de 1-(1,2-difenil-etil)-3-(2-hidroxietil)-tiourea novedosos de formula I y sus sales aceptables para uso en agricultura asi como tambien una composicion para utilizar en agricultura que comprende un compuesto con estructura de 1-(1,2-difenil-etil)-3-(2-hidroxietil)-tiourea de formula I o una sal del mismo.
