Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set a power source of a circuit pack to on-state in a perfectly connected state, by causing a plug-in unit power switch to be in an on-state after a connector pin of the plug-in unit and a back plane connector pin are perfectly connected with each other. SOLUTION: When a plug-in unit 100 is to be mounted in a subrack assembly 200, one end of a power switch on/off lever 170 is inserted in a guide groove 154 formed on a handle 150, and then, a protrusion 173 provided on one end of the lever 170 is lowered along the guide groove 154, thereby causing the other end of the lever 170 to rise. In accordance with this operation, a lever 122 of a plug-in unit power switch 121 housed inside of a jaw 174 provided on the lever 170 may be turned into an on-state. Thus, the power source of a circuit pack can be turned into an on-state in a perfectly connected state.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to easily measure the laser beam width from a narrow laser beam width to a wide laser beam width and to simultaneously measure the single channel and multichannel laser beam widths by using a light having a frequency moved by induction Brillouin scattering in an optical fiber. SOLUTION: A first optical coupler 11 branches the light signal from a laser 10 to two signals and outputs these signals to an optical amplifier 12 and a second optical coupler 15. The optical amplifier 12 outputs the signal through an optical circulator 13 to the optical fiber 14 so that the induction Brillouin scattering can be induced within the optical fiber 14. The optical circulator 13 introduces the light to a second optical coupler 15 while minimizing the loss of the light. The second optical coupler 15 accepts the light of the moved frequency outputted from the C terminal of the optical circulator 13 at its input, accepts the original light signal to be measured from the first optical coupler 11 and generates howling by both. A photodetector 16 converts this signal to a howling spectral electric signal, outputs the signal to an analyzer 18 and measures the spectral width via a howling amplifier 17.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily realize the ATM cellphysical layer processing circuit by conducting an ATM(asynchronous transfer mode) processing in the unit of bytes at a specific frequency and conducting parallel processing for the remaining processing at a specific speed so as to increase the operating speed of the ATM cell physical layer processing circuit. SOLUTION: In order to decrease the operating speed of the circuit, transmission reception ATM processing sections 10, 60 are operated by a frequency of 77.76MHz and transmission reception pointer processing sections 30, 80 where a function of a frame receiver avoidable of partial byte processing or the like is excluded are operated at a frequency of 19.44MHz. Furthermore, received frame data are descrambled at frame synchronization and separated into four STM(synchronous transfer modules) 1 at a speed of 19.44MHz and they are sent to a reception SOH(section overhead) processing section 90, from which a timing signal generated from a timing control section is applied in common to four 19M streams and processed.

A timer processing part 4 processes timer information. A testing object system connection part 6 is composed of (n) pieces of parts and performs physical connection with the test system.

SOLUTION: In the reception part for the protocol processing of a division and a recoupling hierarchy, whether an error exists in the convergent part hierarchy instruction bit in the ordinal number or not is inspected and is corrected by the ordinal number inspection correction part 1 located at the front stage of an error detection correction part 2. A division/recoupling protocol data unit header and the information as to whether an error exists in the convergent part hierarchy instruction bit or not are delivered to the error detection correction part 2, a mode conversion is performed and the convergent part hierarchy instruction bit of the ordinal number is reinspected in an ordinal number inspection part 3. Next, the ordinal number based on this reinspected result and the data of the state of the ordinal number are delivered to the convergent part hierarchy.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Y-junction type nonlinear optical waveguide which performs complete optical operation wherein the disadvantages of a conventional nonlinear directional coupler and a double-mode interference coupler are complemented and is large in branch angle. SOLUTION: This optical waveguide is composed of a straight linear optical waveguide 12 and a bent nonlinear optical waveguide 14 which is joined to the linear optical waveguide 12. When the power of incident light is less than specified, the incident light travels mainly to the linear optical waveguide 12 and when the power of the incident light is larger than specified, the incident light travels mainly to the nonlinear optical waveguide 14. Since the branch angle of the incident light is increased and an abrupt switching phenomenon takes place, the degree of integration can be improved and since it is not so difficult to adjust critical power, the manufacture is easy.

In the three-layered junction, a lower electrode 3 and an upper electrode 6 are formed of YBCO superconductive thin film vertical to an a-axis, and a barrier layer 5 is formed of insulating film of thickness 2 to 5nm sandwiched between the two superconductive electrode layers, and a junction 4 has an inclined angle of 30 deg. to 70 deg..

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely fix a light focusing lens used for a semiconductor laser module for light transmission and optical amplification provided with optical fibers by utilizing a laser welding method. SOLUTION: The light focusing lens 5 is first fixed by adjusting the distance between this lens and the optical fibers and, thereafter, the position between a laser diode 1 and the light focusing lens 5 is aligned in a transverse direction and longitudinal direction. Next, a lens housing is welded to a lens ring by a laser. The position between the laser diode 1 and the light focusing lens 5 is so aligned in the transverse direction and the longitudinal direction that the magnitude of the light signal outputted to the optical fibers is maximized. A lens fixing base 8 and the lens ring are then welded to each other by the laser. Not only the productivity is enhanced but the displacement between the parts is minimized even at a temp. change after welding or in a reliability test according to thereto and, therefore, the performance of the optical module is improved.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save switch resources and to enable another transmission function to be executed by continuously transmitting ATM cells to a processor link which is divided by virtual rout display. SOLUTION: A register part 302 picks-up the virtual route display VPI of processor routing information and transmits it to a memory part 303. The memory part 303 refers to a VPI value inputted from the register part 302 and outputs a processor routing bit map to a processor cell transmitting part 305. The processor cell transmitting part 305 recognizes the processor routing bit map inputted from the memory part 303 and outputs a reception FIFO selection signal for previously selecting the processor link to multiple processor reception FIFOs 306. When the processor reception FIFOs 306 are enables by the reception FIFO selection signal of the processor cell transmitting part 305, FOFOs 306 stores the output of the register part 302 and outputs it in a lower part processor link 308.
