Abstract: PURPOSE: A tunable laser module is provided to improve an output characteristic by using two arms of a Mach-Zehnder light modulator for two output terminals. CONSTITUTION: A tunable laser module comprises a light gain area unit (401), a light distribution unit (402), a light coupling unit (407), and a light amplifying unit (408). The light distribution unit separates a light signal which is output from a light gain area unit. Two comb reflection units (403, 404) reflect one part of the light signal which is separated by the light distribution unit, and transmits the other part of the separated signal. The light coupling unit combines light signals whose phases are changed by two phase units (405, 406). The light amplifying unit amplifies the light signal which is combined by the light coupling unit. The light gain area unit oscillates laser by totally reflecting the light signal which are reflected by the two comb reflection unit.

Abstract: A wavelength tunable external resonance laser according to the present invention includes: a housing; a super luminescent diode element which is located in the housing and generates and outputs an optical signal; an EA modulator which is manufactured by being integrated with the supper luminescent diode element; and a polymer grating reflector which is located in the housing to face the supper luminescent diode element, outputs the optical signal to the outside by controlling the reflectivity of a grating, and changes the wavelength of the optical signal by changing the index of refraction of the grating. Abstract: PURPOSE: The direct coupling type wavelength varying external resonator laser is provided to a working speed by controlling an optical power capable of making the high speed operation. CONSTITUTION: The wavelength varying external resonator laser (1000) comprises a gain medium (500), an optical waveguide structure (400), and the high frequency transmission media (600). The gain medium generates the optical signal according to an approved bias current. The optical waveguide structure comprises a mirror surface by combining with the gain medium, generates lasing inside the mirror facet when the approved bias current is over a threshold value. The high frequency transmission media comprises a dielectric body (610), a metallic thin film wire (620), and a matching resistance unit (630). The dielectric body controls the working speed of the optical signal by adding the high frequency signal in the approved bias current. The metallic thin film wire comprises a transmission line by combining with the dielectric body. The matching resistance unit performs a signal matching function by adding the resistance value of the gain medium.

Abstract: 본 발명은 넓은 파장가변 특성을 갖는 레이저와 TDM data 구조를 결합하고 여기에 필요한 광 부품을 적절히 활용함으로써 근거리 광 통신망인 WDM-PON 시스템에 채널교환기능을 추가하고 잠재적인 전송속도를 크게 확대한다. 또한 광원과 AWG의 파장천이가 있을 경우 Loop-Back 네트워크구조를 이용하여 추가적인 우회 회선 없이 파장을 추적하고 전달되는 신호의 크기를 최적화 한다. 그리고 전기적으로 파장을 변화시키는 파장가변 레이저를 이용하여 OLT(Optical line terminal)의 온도 안정화에 필요한 온도 제어기(TEC, thermo-electric controller)의 수를 최소화 한다.
