    Abstract: Preparation, for obtaining corrosion protection layers to metallic surfaces, comprises at least one binding agent system (15-70 wt.%) that is hardened under atmospheric conditions, at least one corrosion preventing polymer agent (0.1-40 wt.%), at least one solvent (5-83.9 wt.%), and at least one component (1-70 wt.%) of fine-particle filler, pigment or dye. Preparation, for obtaining corrosion protection layers to metallic surfaces, comprises at least one binding agent system (15-70 wt.%) that is hardened under atmospheric conditions, at least one corrosion preventing polymer agent (0.1-40 wt.%), at least one solvent (5-83.9 wt.%), and at least one component (1-70 wt.%) of fine-particle filler, pigment or dye (where the corrosion preventing agent is obtained from the monomer building units of: (i) 70-30 mol.% of at least one monoethylenic unsaturated hydrocarbon and/or at least one monomer (with function groups X 1>) modified monoethylenic unsaturated hydrocarbons and vinyl ethers), (ii) 30-70 mol % of at least a 4-8C monoethylenic unsaturated dicarbonic acid and/or its anhydride or derivatives such as esters of the dicarbonic acids with alcohol of formula (OH-R 1>-X 2> n), amide and/or imide with ammonia and/or amine of formula (HR 2>N-R 1>-X 2> n), and (iii) 0-10 mol % of ethylenic unsaturated monomers (different from (i) and (ii), but copolymer of (i) and (ii)), where the quantities are related to the total quantity of all monomer containing copolymer). R 1>(n+1) valued group of 1-40C hydrocarbons, (where the non-adjoining C is replaced by O and/or N); R 2>H, 1-10C hydrocarbon group or -R 1>-X 2> n; n : 1-3; and X 2>functional group. Independent claims are included for: (1) a method for the corrosion protection by obtaining at least one corrosion protection layer with a thickness of at least 15 mu m, comprising applying the preparation on the polished or pre-coated metallic surface under atmospheric conditions, and hardening the applied layer under atmospheric conditions; and (2) a coated metallic surface obtained by the method.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for reesterifying or esterifying side chai ns in polymers. Said method comprises the following steps: a) a copolymer is produced which is obtained by polymerizing aa) at least one (meth)acrylate o f general formula (I) as component A, wherein R1 represents H or CH3 while R2 represents H or an alkyl radical that can be optionally substituted with functional groups such as acryl groups, ether groups, amino groups, epoxy groups, halogen groups, or sulfonic acid groups, and ab) at least one monome r of general formula (II) as component B, wherein R3 has the same meaning as R 1, R4 has the same meaning as R2, and n = 1 to 40, and b) reesterifying or esterifying the carboxyl group containing the radical R4 with an alcohol in the presence of an enzyme catalyzing the reesterification or esterification process. The invention also relates to said polymers and the use thereof.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition for coating metallic surfaces, comprising a binder component; a corrosion inhibitor polymer based on an ethylenically monocarboxylic and dicarboxylic acid and, if appropriate, further ethylenical monomers, a solvent component, and, if appropriate, crosslinkable components, and also pigment/filler components. The invention further relates to processes for its preparation and also to methods of coating a metallic surface using the composition, to coated metallic surfaces thus obtained, and to the use of the composition as a primer, particularly in coil coating or in atmospheric corrosion control. After drying, the applied layer preferably has a thickness of at least 3.1 μm and is therefore thicker than a typical pretreatment layer.
