Abstract: The invention relates to the utilization of a shaped material different from ABS for the production of massage apparatus and housings for said apparatus. Said shaped material contains, in relation to the sum of the portions of components A, B and C and optionally D, a total of 100 % by weight of a) 1-48 % by weight of at least one single or multiphase particulate emulsion polymer with a glass transition temperature below 0 DEG C in at least one phase and a mean particle size of 50-1000 nm, preferably 50-800 nm as component A; b) 1-48 % by weight of at least one amorphous or semi-crystalline polymer as component B; c: 51-98 % by weight of a polycarbonate as component c), and d) 0-47 % by weight of usual additives and/or fibrous or particulate filling materials or the mixtures thereof as component D.

Abstract: Polymer mixture includes elastomeric block copolymer with hard blocks S of vinyl aromatic monomers and statistical soft blocks B/S of dienes and vinyl aromatic monomers with a block structure(s) of S-B/S-S, whereby the diene content is at most 50 wt.% and the soft phase of B/S blocks comprises at least 60 wt.%. Polymer mixture comprises: (A) 1-85 wt.% elastomeric block copolymer with hard blocks S of vinyl aromatic monomers and statistical soft blocks B/S of dienes and vinyl aromatic monomers with a block structure(s) of S-B/S-S, whereby the diene content is at most 50 wt.% and the soft phase of B/S blocks comprises at least 60 wt.%; (B) 5-89 wt.% of a different block diene-vinyl aromatic monomers copolymer; (C) 10-94 wt.% transparent or impact polystyrene; and (D) 0-84 wt.% additives. An Independent claim is included for fibers, films and molded articles made from the above polymer mixture.

Preparation of metal-plated, extruded plastic comprises: melt blending and extrusion of a plastic mixture (comprising 100 wt.% of the components related to the total weight: 5-50 wt.% of thermoplastic polymer (A); 50-95 wt.% of metal powder (B) having an average particle diameter of 0.1-100 mu m and more negative normal potential in acid solution than silver; 0-10 wt.% of dispersant (C); and 0-40 wt.% of fibrous/particulate fillers or their mixture (D)); and contacting extruded plastic object with an acid, neutral or basic metal salt solution through electrolessly or galvanically brought into contact , that metal having a more positive normal potential in a correspondingly acid, neutral or basic solution than component (B), where the plastic object is surface-activated in the non-molten state after the melt blending and extrusion step and before the contacting step. An independent claim is included for a metal-plated, extruded plastic object obtained by the process.

(B11) consists of (a) 70-99% at least one 1-8C alkyl acrylate (B111); 0.1-10% at least one bifunctional crosslinker (B112) and 0-29.9% other copolymerizable comonomers (B113) or (b) 70-100% diene (B1111), 0-5-5% at least one bifunctional crosslinker (B1112) and 0-30% other copolymerizable comonomers (B1113). (B12) comprises 50-95% optionally substituted styrene (B121), 5-50% (meth)acrylonitrile (B122), and 0-20% other copolymerizable comonomers (B123). (B2) is 40-75% optionally substituted styrene; 15-50% (meth)acrylonitrile and 0-20% other copolymerizable comonomers.
