Independent claims are also included for: (1) a carbonylation catalyst comprising a compound (I) and palladium or a palladium compound; (2) production of derivatives by liquid-phase carbonylation of a conjugated diene in the presence of a hydroxylic compound and a carbonylation catalyst as above.

The invention also relates to a method for the carbonylation of a conjugated diene in the presence of said system.
