Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a back light device which does not require a high-voltage power source for lighting, is free of electromagnetic noise emitted from the high-voltage power source and does not require a countermeasure for an electromagnetic shield and the like by simple constitution.
SOLUTION: The back light device of a liquid crystal panel is composed of one red LED 15, one blue LED 16 and one green LED 17, an LED diver circuit 33 and an optical system using cross dichroic mirrors 40. In the cross dichroic mirrors 40, the dichroic mirror 40G of green reflection and dichroic mirror 40R of red reflection intersect orthogonally with each other and the dichroic mirrors of green reflection and red reflection are inclined 45° such that the light of the green LED 17 is totally reflected by the dichroic mirror 40G, the light of the red LED 15 is totally reflected by the dichroic mirror 40R and the light of the blue LED 16 passes the dichroic mirrors 40G and 40R. The one red LED 15, the one blue LED 16, and the one green LED 17 are disposed in the positions where these are synthesized onto one optical axis.
