    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester composition improved in basic properties such as running character and abrasion resistance, and suitable for optical goods of good transparency. SOLUTION: This composition contains a polyester resin and 0.001-10 wt.% zinc silicate particle represented by the formula: Mx(Zn)y(SiO4).nH2O (wherein M is a metal other than zinc, and when valence of the metal ion is a, x×a+y×2=4, and y>=1.2; and n is a number of 0-2), and has a light transmissivity, on a basis of 100 μm thickness and a particle content of 1 wt.%, of 97.0% or more.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce the subject composition excellent in productivity without substantially causing foreign materials due to a polymerization catalyst by including a specific amount of a metallocene compound therein. SOLUTION: This composition is produced by carrying out transesterification of, e.g. a dialkyl ester as an acid component with a diol using a metallocene metal compound contained in an amount of 1-500 ppm expressed in terms of a metallocene metal element (e.g. titanocene dichloride) as a polymerization catalyst, heating the resultant reactional product under a reduced pressure, removing the excessive diol component and conducting polycondensation. Since the polyester is prepared by using the metallocene compound as the catalyst, an oligomer can be reduced in a short time and sufficient reactivity is obtained with a small amount of the catalyst. Thereby, the productivity is high. Since the composition has no coarse protrusion due to foreign materials, the composition is useful for film applications, especially the films for magnetic tapes.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-sensitive transfer recording medium, with which highly fine printing is realized even under severe printing conditions without head damage, by a method wherein aromatic polyamide, which is made soluble in organic solvent and the percentage of moisture absorption of which is suppressed, is employed without impairing its excellent heat resistance, mechanical characteristics and the like. SOLUTION: A heat-sensitive transfer recording layer is provided in order to obtain a heat-sensitive transfer recording medium on one side of an aromatic polyamide film, which is mainly made of para-orienting aromatic polyamide soluble in organic solvent and having 15% or less of the percentage of the substitution of halogen group and nitro group substituting the hydrogen atom on an aromatic nucleus and, at the same time, the Young's modulus in at least one direction of which his 7.8GPa or more and the percentage of moisture absorption of which is 2.5% or less.

As such a base material, for example, polyamide, polyimide, polyamideimide, and polyphenylene sulfide are included. Of them, the polyamide and particularly aromatic polyamide is preferable. The content of the ionic impurity contained in the material is 300ppm or less.
