    Abstract: PURPOSE:To certainly prevent the generation of red water containing ferric oxide by separating and removing impurities whose particle size exceeds a specific value contained in water by using a precise filter membrane and subsequently separating and removing oxygen and air contained in water by using a degassing membrane. CONSTITUTION:The raw water in a water tank 2 is sent to a precise filter device 7 using a porous membrane as a filter material by a water supply pump 6 and, after impurites whose particle size exceeds 0.01-10mum contained in the raw water are separated and removed in this device, the filtered raw water is sent to a degassing device 8 using, for example, hollow yarns of a gas separation membrane and air or oxygen dissolved in the filtered water is removed under reduced pressure due to a vacuum pump 9 in the degassing device 8. Oxygen is usually dissolved in tap water in an amt. of about 8ppm and an iron pipe is corroded by this oxygen to generate red water. Therefore, degassed water with dissolved oxygen content of 0.5ppm or less is obtained in the degassing device 8 and red rust is reduced to be changed to black rust by the degassed water to prevent the advance of the corrosion of the iron pipe.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To shorten the time required for obtaining an optimum lake and marsh purifying system by setting lake and marsh purifying parameters based on target water quality data, physical data and variation with time data for lakes and marshes to be purified. CONSTITUTION:Variation with time data is selected out of water quality variation with time data kept in a variation with time data keeping section 5 by a variation with time data selecting section 6 based on a data forming a part of physical data, for instance, positions for lakes and marshes measured by a physical data measuring section 2. Data representing the transition of water quality of lakes and marshes to be purified are computed by a water quality transition data computing section 7 based on water quality data and variation with time data prepared by a water quality measuring section 3. Data forming a part of the physical data, for instance, surface area, water storage amount, depth, outflow water amount and the like, data representing the water quality, data representing a lake and marsh purifying system based on the target water quality and various kinds of parameters for the lake and marsh purifying system based on the target water quality are set up by a parameter setting section 8.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain bis-beta-hydroxyethyl terephthalate and its oligomer in a short time efficiently, by preheating a slurry which has a low molar ratio of terephthalic acid to ethylene glycol by a static type blender, followed by feeding it to an esterification reaction system. CONSTITUTION:First, a slurry which has a low molar ratio of terephthalic acid to ethylene glycol of 1-1.3 is prepared. The slurry, for example, is then transferred from the pump 1 through the conduit 2 to the static type blender 4 with the heating medium 5 where the slurry is preheated to a temperature not lower than 100 deg.C and not higher than the boiling temperature of ethylene glycol, and the slurry is fed continuously to the esterification reactor 6, give bis-beta-hydroxyethyl terephthalate or its oligomer. The high-temperature slurry can be fed to the ewterification reaction system stably without reducing the flow properties of the slurry. The load of a rectifying column is reduced, and the desired compound is obtained by a simple process. USE:An intermediate for preparing polyethylene terephthalate.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an efficient and effective cooling of strand resin by performing a surface solidification at first while water is atomized over molten resin injected in a line form, transporting the resin by a horizontal belt and performing a specific cooling function. CONSTITUTION:Water is atomized by water feedered 7 and 8 while the molten resin injected in a line form is transported by a metallic endless belt 5 to improve a solidification of a surface. Then, when started, the endless belt 15 is held in a horizontal level and guided, and when some tension forces are applied to the strand, a stepped roller 17 is lowered, the endless belt is held as shown at 11, 12', 13', 18, 17' to adjust a cooling length of the strand. The cooled strand is selected in reference to its quality by a guillotine 19, taken up by the endless belts 20, 21 and cut in a lateral direction by the cutter 23.
