    Abstract: PURPOSE:A conjugated yarn composed of 2 kinds of thermoplastic polymers different in solubility is treated with a solvent to remove the soluble component and form grooves with specific width and detph, thus producing the titled fiber giving woven or knitted fabrics with comfortable creaking touch, elegant luster and good color developing properties. CONSTITUTION:A conjugated yarn composed of 2 kinds of thermoplastic polymers different in solubility, preferbly composed of a copolyester from 1-10mol% of 5-sodiosulfoisophtalic acid and 99-90mol% of ethylene terephthalate as the easy soluble component and of polyethylene terephthalate as the hard soluble component, in which the easy soluble polymer occupies at least two places of 0.2-4 micron size on the outer surface in the fiber cross section, is treated with an alkali to remove the easy soluble parts to form grooves of 0.2-4 micron width and 0.1-1.8 micron depth, thus giving the objective fiber.
