    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a sediment stop sheet with good water permeability and water passing property by using a fabric continuously constituted of many thin-width sheets with a multi-layer structure so that gaps are generated between adjacent fine-width sheets. CONSTITUTION:A fabric with the width of about 20mm is woven with a polyester filament thread, it is immersed in a water soluble polyvinyl alcohol paste material. The fabrics are overlapped on a cylinder roll coated with fluororesin on the surface and wound and dried at the width of about 7mm. They are cut in the roll shaft direction to form a sheet 1 temporarily stuck with a water soluble paste material. It is then sewn with a sewing machine in the width direction of the fine-width sheet 1 at a uniform interval of about 20mm and in the direction that the sheet 1 is not turned over to form an overlap structure fabric. It is immersed and processed in hot water to solve and remove the water soluble paste material so that gaps are formed between adjacent sheets 1. The inflow of sediment, blinding, and the reduction of the drain effect can be prevented.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an element which can be increases in packing density and strength and has a high response speed by constituting the element of an extremely fine fiber of an extendable and contractable polymer gel. CONSTITUTION:The fiber is obtd. by subjecting the precursor of the extendable and contractable polymer gel (the uncrosslinked polymer, oligomer or monomer of the extendable and contractable polymer gel or the mixture composed thereof, etc.) and a fiber formable polymer of a polyacrylonitrile system, etc., to composite spinning (core-sheath fiber spinning and sea-island fiber spinning executed by a wet process, dry process, etc.). The fiber may be subjected to post treatments such as stretching and heat treatment. The precursor is imparted with reaction (crosslinking reaction and cyclization, etc.) and thereafter, the fiber formable polymer is removed (a dissolving method, decomposing method, etc., which are executed by using liquid, gas, etc., can be adopted and are executed by a batch method or continuous method) in the case of using the monomer oligomer as the precursor of the polymer gel and if the form cannot be maintained with the monomer or oligomer alone.     Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an ink ribbon having good ink-retention properties, sharpness in printing, and superior dulability, by using a cloth made of a fiber having a plurality of groove- or layer-form hollow parts with one opening on the periphery thereof at a fiber cross section. CONSTITUTION:An ink ribbon mainly consists of a cloth made of a fiber having a plurality of groove- or layer-form hollow parts with at least one opening on the periphery thereof at a fiber cross section. The construction of the fiber surface having continuous irregularities along a fiber axis makes adjacent fibers strongly restrain each other, thus enabling the reduction of problems, such as the distortion in texture, hole, and elongation in the woven material. Therefore, an ink ribbon having durability can be obtained with the strong construction. As an applicable synthetic fiber, polyester fiber, polyacrylonitrile fiber, acetate fiber, and others can be used. As a polymer having a high performance in mechanical resistance against typing, polyamide fiber and polyester fiber are preferable.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an adsorption unit for an air cleaner having small pressure drop and long adsorption lifetime, by rolling and laminating an adsorption sheet with described space from each other and both ends thereof opened to the outside. CONSTITUTION:Agents to eliminate smell is applied to a sheet-like matter (e.g. non-woven fabrics of nylon) by impregnation or spraying to form an adsorption sheet 1. The adsorption sheet 1 thus obtained is formed into a laminated rolling structure having a space between adjacent sheets by, for example, inserting spacers thereinto, with both ends opened to the outside and is then molded into an adsorption unit, after which the adsorption unit 1 is placed and fixed in a case 2 in such a way that the surfaces thereof is parallel to the air flow. Air is sucked, as shown by an arrow A, into an end opening formed in the manner as stated above and flows parallel to the surface of the adsorption unit 1 to be discharged from the opposite opening as shown by an arrow B. As a result, since air does not cross the adsorption sheet 1, pressure drop of air is negligible. With regard to the adsorption unit, the ratio between the length L between both ends thereof and a space D provided between adjacent sheets is preferred to be L/D >=2.
