    Abstract: A novel polyester film is disclosed, comprising a liquid crystal polyester, a non-liquid crystal polyester and a fiberizer capable of substantially fiberizing said liquid crystal polyester. A process for the preparation of such a polyester film is also disclosed. Such a polyester film shows drastic improvements in various physical properties and other properties over the prior art polyester films. The polyester film according to the present invention exhibits a high modulus of elasticity, a high toughness, a small content of oligomer, thermal decomposition products and gelation products and excellent electrical properties and thus can be used as a base film for electrical insulating material, capacitor, magnetic recording medium, OA, FA, etc.

    Abstract: A thermoplastic resin film has a variation in thickness of the film in the longitudinal direction of not more than 5% and a ratio "Pw1/PwT" of the sum of spectral intensities of wave-number components present in the wave-number range of 0.15 to 0.45 (1/m) (Pw1) to the sum of spectral intensities of the full wave-number range (PwT) determined when a wave form of the variation in thickness is subjected to analysis of Fourier transformation of not more than 0.20, and/or a variation in thickness of the film in the longitudinal direction of not more than 5% and a ratio "Pw2/PwT" of the sum of spectral intensities of wave-number components present in the wave-number range of 1.00 to 2.00 (1/m) (Pw2) to the sum of spectral intensities of the full wave-number range (PwT) determined as described above of not more than 0.15. A process for preparing a film which may have either of the above characteristics comprises supplying a thermoplastic resin to a die after heating and melting it at a temperature of not lower than a melting-finishing temperature "Tme"; extending the resin in a manifold of the die in the width direction of the die; cooling the resin in a land of the die at a temperature of lower than the melting-finishing temperature "Tme" and not lower than a crystallization starting temperature caused in cooling "Tcb"; and extruding the resin from the die.

    Abstract: The specification discloses a thermal stencil paper for mimeograph, having a uniform shape of pores and well-balanced retainability and permeability of printing ink. Thermal stencil paper for mimeograph formed by laminating a porous support member comprising polyester fibers on one surface of a polyester film, characterized in that the porous support member forms a reticulate body having a fusing point at which the fibers are fused to one another, a film which straddles the fibers, and which has a thickness smaller than an average fiber diameter, being formed at some of the fusing points in the reticulate body. Since such thermal stencil paper for mimeograph is provided, the printed matter obtained by a mimeograph using this stencil paper has a high quality of image, and set-off does not occur. Such printed matter is highly convenient to transport.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for producing a thermoplastic resin film, which allows a biaxially oriented polyester film to be formed at a high speed of 400 m/min or more.     Abstract: A method of producing a thermoplastic resin film capable of giving a biaxially oriented polyester film at a speed of as high as at least 400 m/min and an apparatus therefor. Specifically, a method of producing a thermoplastic film, wherein a molten thermoplastic resin film is closely bonded to, and cooled and solidified, on a cooling medium to prepare a cast film, characterized in that the surface temperature of the medium immediately before the melt is brought into contact therewith is higher than a glass transition temperature Tg of the thermoplastic resin but is lower than a melting point Tm thereof.     Abstract: This invention discloses heat-sensitive stencil paper and a production method thereof. Since no adhesive is used in this paper, the permeability to printing ink is not affected, and thus high-quality prints are obtained. The elimination of the use of adhesive prevents the decrease in resistance to ink, the adhesion to a thermal head, and emission of toxicious chlorine and improves the stability of film coating and productivity. This stencil paper is obtained by thermally bonding a polyester film and a porous support comprising a polyester fiber and co-stretching them, and the peel strength between the film and the porous support is at least 1 g/cm. Accordingly, prints obtained by stencil printing have very high quality.
