    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester film that is excellent in cost performance and that has high hiding performance and high drawing performance. SOLUTION: This polyester film comprises 10-60 wt.% of inorganic particles with an average particle size of 1-20 μm and a specific gravity of 1.8-2.6 g/cm3. The film has a specific gravity of 0.8-1.3g/cm3 and a hiding rate of >=1.0. A polyester laminate film is prepared by having this film as a layer.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition for coatings capable of forming coating films having excellent appearance and design and hardly forming scratches, struck cracks, etc., by compounding an acrylic resin, an amino resin and inorganic particles having a primary particle diameter of a prescribed value or less and forming secondary aggregates. SOLUTION: This resin composition for coatings comprises (A) an acrylic resin copolymerized with a silane compound in an amount corresponding to the 0.01-1.0 wt.% as Si element, (B) an amino resin which is a triazine ring- having compound containing 1.5-6.0 >=2C alkoxymethyl groups per triazine ring, and (C) one or more kinds of inorganic particles having a primary particle diameter of =5, and selected from inactive inorganic particles such as δ type alumina. The components A and B are compounded in a ratio of 90/10 to 30/70, and the component C is preferably compounded in an amount of 0.05-10 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the component A.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a surface flawless film without allowing an oligomer to stick to the surface of a drum or a roll by using the drum or the roll which has a chrome plating film containing a specified number of carbon atoms for a chromium atom formed on the surface whose outer peripheral face has a specific surface roughness. SOLUTION: A film manufacturing drum or roll is used which has an outer peripheral face with a surface roughness of 1S or less and also a chrome plating film containing 0.5-5% of a carbon atom in terms of the number of atoms for a chromium atom formed on the surface. An oligomer is prevented from sticking to the drum or the roll by meeting both surface roughness and surface film composition conditions. If this plating film thickness is too small, the pliability of a foundation metal influences the thickness. On the other hand, if the thickness is too large, cracks are generated due to heat or stress strain. The recommended foundation metal on which the film is applied is normally SUS or carbon steel.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a defect such as a wrinkle or the like from developing and improve printability, running properties and handleability by a method wherein the heat shrinkage factor in the longitudinal direction of a heat-sensitive transfer printer ribbon at a specified temperature is set to be a specified percentage. SOLUTION: The heat shrinkage factor in the longitudinal direction of a heat-sensitive transfer ribbon is set to be 1% or less at 100 deg.C and 2% or more at 150 deg.C, further preferably 0.7% or less at 100 deg.C and 4% or more at 150 deg.C. Furthermore, their widthwise heat shrinkage stresses at 100 deg.C and 210 deg.C are specified, respectively, to be 30g/mm or more and 60g/mm or more, preferably 100g/mm or more. The heat shrinkage factor in the longitudinal direction at 100 deg.C is indispensable for the prevention of the shrinkage and deformation of film during its long term storage under hot and humid conditions. In addition, the heat shrinkage factor at 150 deg.C is indispensable for the prevention of the development of a wrinkle due to the shrinkage and deformation caused by the contact with a heat sensitive head.
