Abstract:
Abstract:
A monolithic spectrometer (10) for spectrally resolving light (L), comprises a body (2) of solid material having optical surfaces (3,4,5,6a-6c,8) configured to guide the light (L) along an optical path (E1,E2,E3,E4) inside the body (2). The optical surfaces of the body (2) comprise a segmented focusing surface (6a,6b) comprising first and second continuously functional optical shapes (Ca,Cb) to focus received parts of respective beams (La,Lb) onto respective focal position (fa,fb) in an imaging plane (P) outside the body (2). The second continuously functional optical shape (Cb) is separated from the first continuously functional optical shape (Ca) by an optical discontinuity (Dab) there between.
Abstract:
An imaging spectrometer, covering the visible through infrared wavelengths, which disperses the light by a plane diffraction grating behind a wedged optical element. This design uses an achromatic doublet lens with a reflective coating on its convex back surface to produce the spectra on a flat detector. Spatial keystone distortion and spectral smile are controlled to less than one tenth of a pixel over the full wavelength range, facilitating the use of simple retrieval algorithms.

Abstract:
A high resolution spectrometer with a large free spectral range comprising an entrance slit for a beam of electromagnetic radiation to be analyzed, a first dispersion device for dispersing the beam to be analyzed into various wavelength components in a first direction, a second dispersion device for dispersing each wavelength component output from the first dispersion device in a second direction, and an imaging device comprising a sensitive detection spectrum surface on which the beam dispersed in the first and second directions is focused, the first dispersion device being an optical filter that varies linearly and has a surface on which the beam to be analyzed is focused, each point on the surface of the filter operating like a pass band filter with a central frequency varying linearly in the first direction.
Abstract:
An optical system for a multidetector array spectrophotometer which includes multiple light sources for emitting light of selected wavelength ranges and means for selectively transmitting the selected wavelength ranges of light to respective slits of a multi-slit spectrogrpah for multiple wavelength range detection. The spectrograph has two or more slits which direct the selected wavelength ranges of the light spectra to fall upon a dispersive and focusing system which collects light from each slit, disperses the light by wavelength and refocuses the light at the positions of a single set of detectors.
Abstract:
A method for focusing the horizontal and vertical components of energy reflected from an echelle grating which includes rotating the grating about a first axis substantially parallel to a prism face and rotating the grating about a second axis substantially normal to the first axis.
Abstract:
Novel monolithic cyclical reflective spatial heterodyne spectrometers (CRSHS) are presented. Monolithic CRSHS in accordance with the invention have a single frame wherein a flat mirror, roof mirror, and symmetric grating are affixed. The invention contains only fixed parts; the flat mirror, roof mirror, and symmetric grating do not move in relation to the frame. Compared to conventional CRSHS known in the art, the present invention enables much smaller and lighter CRSHS, requires less time and skill for maintenance, and is a better economic option. The disclosed invention may include fixed field-widening optical elements or a fiber-fed assembly.
