Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a high selective adsorption of molecules by forming a polymer from a non-functional polymer or a monomer never forming a complex with its absorbed molecule. SOLUTION: An affinity chromatographic medium in the form of a water- insoluble polymer matrix having selectivity for a preliminarily selected molecular species is formed from a non-ionic monomer chemically and physically inactive to the molecular species by polymerizing the monomer in the presence of the molecular species, and extracting the species from the resulting insoluble polymer matrix. In the use of the thus-formed polymer, every electrostatic interaction between the adsorbed molecular species in the polymer and an individual sub-unit or the formation of complex in other forms is substantially lacked. An adsorptive gel which is selective to substantially all molecular species independent from size, and has a three-dimensional molecular structure containing those having no functional group is prepared.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to directly operate spectral display on a display by a high-degree intuitive dialogue method in a user interface in a computerized spectrum analyzer. SOLUTION: An initial difference spectrum equal to a sample spectrum is displayed on a display 2, and a data point having a related frequency in the initial difference spectrum is selected on the display 2 by a relative pointing device, and this data point is moved by a measurable quantity on the display 2 by a relative graphical input device, and a digit moving piece is determined in response to this measurable quantity and a data point in a reference spectrum having the same related frequency, and respective data points are digitally moved in the reference spectrum by the digit moving piece, and a moving reference spectrum is formed, and a difference spectrum between the sample spectrum and a digit moving reference spectrum is determined, and at least a part of the difference spectrum is displayed on the display 2.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a phosphor image screen of high sensitivity to the light and the weak β rays, by installing a phosphor layer including accelerated phosphor on a base, and coating the surface of the layer with a protective coating composed of a para-xylylen polymer of a specific formula. CONSTITUTION: An optionally substituted para-xylylen polymer represented by the formula, is used as a protective coating. (In the formula, R1, R2, R3 and R4 are independently selected from a group of H, alkyl, aryl, heteroaryl, alkenyl, cyano, alkoxyl, hydroxyl, aryloxyl, carboxyl, carboxyalkyl, carboxyaryl, halogen, amino and nitro. The n is not less than 1000.) The thickness of the protective coating is 25-50μm in the desirable operating condition, and 0.10-10μm in the other condition. The image of high sensitivity, contrast and reproducibility can be obtained by the comparatively short irradiation time by using this phosphor screen.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide an inexpensive arc detecting system which has fewer components by providing a method for separating electric power which maintains arc when an arc detector detects arc generated on electric system. CONSTITUTION: A current transformer 14 measures current amplitude of a line 12 and outputs current signals proportional to the amplitude. Unnecessary frequency components are removed from the signals using a higher-region filter 16 and a lower-region filter 17. An amplifier 18 converts an arc pulse contained in passing region to a pulse having a steep clock edge, and inputs it into an accumulator 19. The accumulator 19 outputs a detection signal to a node 24 when it accumulates a predetermined threshold related to number of clock edges. The signal from the node 24 is input into a luminescent diode D1 and a solid relay 22, and operates the diode D1, and the relay 22 cuts a circuit 13 which supplies electric power to an electric system. This provides an inexpensive arc detecting system which has fewer components.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To excite phosphorescence in a local area of a stimulable phisphor image forming plate and to efficiently sense low-level phosphorescence by providing a two-forked optical fiber bundle and a means which converges light in each prescribed position. CONSTITUTION: A graded index (GRIN) lens 2 converges light on an emitter fiber 3. The emitter fiber 3 is coupled to a collector fiber 7 to constitute a two-forked optical fiber bundle 4, and light from a light source 1 is sent to an image forming/converging lens 5 through the two-forked optical fiber bundle 4 by the emitter fiber 3 and is converged in a small area on a stimulable phosphor image forming plate 6. When light from the light source 1 strikes a phosphor having a latent image in the phosphor image forming plate 6, phosphorescence is made incident on the image forming/converging lens 5 and is sent to the collector fiber in the two-forked optical fiber bundle 4. This collector fiber turns phosphorescence toward a sensor like a photoelectronic multiplier or a photodiode, and phosphorescence is detected to generate an electronic analog signal.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To detect an image as the display of the presence of the polymer on a matrix by impregnating a solid phase having an objective polymer fixed thereto with a liquid phase substrate and exposing a liquid phase chemoluminescent substrate to a phosphor screen. CONSTITUTION: A phosphor screen 16 is excited by the light energy of laser 25. The beam emitted from the laser passes through a collimator lens 26 to be corrected and is deflected by a mirror 27. Next, the beam is gathered on the screen 16 by the lens 28 controlled by a micrometer 29. A translation device 21 bringings about the scanning of the total length surface of the screen by the beam. The energy emitted from the phosphor screen by infrared excitation is deflected to an optical photomultiplier tube 32 to which high voltage power is supplied 33 by a cold mirror 30 through a short-pass filter 31 and, further, the signal from the photomultiplier tube 32 is turned toward an oscilloscope 34 and a voltmeter 35 to be translated to a visible form by a display 36 having a computer 37.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To enable easily, quickly and safely denaturating serum protein by processing serum sample before analyzing with microwave at the high dial. CONSTITUTION: A serum sample to be analyzed is arranged in a microwave oven and exposed to microwave. The microwave oven has dials of low, middle and high and the high dial means that the magnetron emits microwave at 80 to 100% of the time, the oven is operated. For the microwave for example, one generated at 700W is used. The sample is processed at the high dial for approximately 20 to 90 seconds (60 seconds is most proper) processed by microwave. The serum sample is thus processed with microwave for at least 15 to 20 seconds and exposed in the temperature approximately 65 to 100 deg.C (80 to 85 deg.C is most proper). The serum sample is processed with microwave at this temperature for 60 seconds or less. In this manner, denaturation is caused in existing B12 or folate without disturbance as a whole.
