Abstract: An apparatus for driving an LCD device and an LCD device having the same are provided to prevent a discharge error in power off by turning on a switching element of a data driver and thus allowing charges of overall pixel to be shared. An apparatus for driving an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device includes a voltage generator(750), a source voltage detector(700), gate and data drivers, and a signal controller(600). The voltage generator receives a first voltage(Vin) and generates a second voltage(Vout). The source voltage detector outputs a ground voltage or the second voltage based on the state of the first voltage. The gate and data drivers apply gate-on and data voltages to gate and data lines, respectively. The signal controller outputs first and second control signals(VSW,GST) to the gate and data drivers, respectively, when the second voltage is input.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and a method for driving the same are provided to improve the quality of image through the feedback of the common voltage removing the deviation of distortion components differently represented in response to the position of the panel. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes a gate driver(200), a source driver(300), a common voltage generating unit(400) and a feedback controller(500).
