Abstract: This invention is concerned with a process for the production of a new carbamate of the formula I: I, in which the dotted line denotes a double bond which may be hydrogenated, X is an alkylene bridge of 1 or 2 carbon atoms, R1 is hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R2 is hydrogen, R3 is hydrogen and R4 is hydrogen, a linear of branched alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or a phenyl. This process comprises the steps of reacting a diene of the formula V: V, with a dienophile of the formula VI: VI, according to the Diels Alder reaction, at a temperature of from 15.degree. to 220.degree.C, and hydrogenating the double bond of the obtained unsaturated carbamate when desired. The so prepared new carbamate may be used as pharmaceuticals by virtue of their analgesic properties.

Abstract: The invention comprises esters of phenthiazine-N-carboxylic acids, of the general formula: (wherein R1 represents a C2-6 alkylene radical, R2 a hydrogen atom or a C1-6 alkyl radical, and X a hydrogen or halogen atom), and their hydrochlorides, and a process for the production of hydrochlorides of esters of phenthiazine-N-carboxylic acids which comprises acylating the nitrogen atom of phenthiazine or a halogen-substituted phenthiazine by means of the hydrochloride of the chloroformic acid ester of an aliphatic aminoalcohol of the general formula: (wherein R1 represents a C2-6 aliphatic radical and R2 a hydrogen atom or a C1-12 aliphatic radical), preferably in a liquid halogen hydrocarbon medium. The products are therapeutically useful for increasing the blood pressure. Chloroformic ester hydrochlorides of aminoalcohols are prepared by dissolving or emulsifying the aminoalcohols in a solvent, adding a hydrogen halide, trichloracetic acid or a sulphonic acid, and reacting the resulting salt with phosgene in the cold.
