Abstract: The invention concerns a catalyst composition which is free from noble metals and is obtained by: a) preparing an aqueous mixture which comprises: i) a salt of at least one base metal selected from elements having the atomic numbers 21 to 32, 39 to 42, 48 to 51, 57 to 75 and 81 to 83; ii) phosphate ions; and iii) at least one nitrogen source; and b) concentrating the aqueous mixture produced and drying the resultant catalyst compound. The invention further concerns the preparation of this composition and its use in the production of hydrogen peroxide and the epoxidation of olefins.

Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the preparation of chlorofluorocarbon-free (CFC-free), elastomeric, semi-rigid or rigid mouldings containing urethane groups or urethane and urea groups and having a cellular core and a compacted peripheral zone with an essentially pore-free, smooth surface, by reacting a) organic and/or modified organic polyisocyanates with b) at least one relatively high-molecular-weight compound containing at least two reactive hydrogen atoms and optionally c) low-molecular-weight chain extenders and/or crosslinking agents, in the presence of d) blowing agents, e) catalysts, f) at least one microporous activated charcoal and/or a microporous carbon molecular sieve, which preferably has a mean pore diameter with more than 40% in the range from 0.3 to 3 nm, a pore volume of from 0.20 to 1.4 ml/g and a BET surface area of from 500 to 2500 m /g or greater, and optionally further additives and g) auxiliaries, in a closed mould with compaction.
