Abstract: Highly elastic polyurethane foams have a DIN EN ISO 2440 and DIN EN ISO 1856 (Process A) humid aged compression set (HACS) ≤ 15% and a DIN EN ISO 1856 (Process C) wet compression set (WCS) ≤ 20%. An Independent claim is also included for highly elastic polyurethane foams obtained by reacting (A) a polyisocyanate with (B) a component comprising by weight (B1) a polymerpolyol (5-75%) and (B2) a mixture (25-95%) consisting of (i) a polyetheralcohol (70-98%) of mol. wt. 3500-6500, functionality ≤ 3 and ethylene oxide (EO) content 8-20 wt.% and (ii) a polyetheralcohol (2-30%) of mol. wt. 4000-7000, functionality 4-8 and EO content 5-15 wt.%.

Abstract: A process for the production of flexible polyurethane foam comprises reacting: (a) optionally modified polyisocyanates with: (b) compounds with reactive hydrogens, and (c) optionally chain extenders and/or crosslinkers, in presence of: (d) blowing agents, (e) catalysts, (f) fire retardants, and optionally: (g) other additives etc. At least 10 wt% of the compounds used in this process comprises polyether-polyols obtained by base-catalysed reaction of lower alkylene oxides with hydroxy-functional starters and subjected, during or after alkylene oxides-addition and with a water content of not more than 0.1 wt.%, to distillation at temperatures above 49 degrees C.

Preparation of soft polyurethane (PU) foam (A) by reacting a polyisocyanate (I) with a block polyoxypropylene-polyoxyethylene polyol (II), having at least two isocyanate-reactive hydrogen atoms; hydroxy number 25-45 mg potassium hydroxide/g and content of terminally bound ethylene oxide units 15-17wt.% on total amount of alkylene oxide. (II) is prepared by addition of ethylene and propylene oxides to a starter molecule (III) of mean functionality 3. Independent claims are also included for: (a) (A) produced by the new method; (b) (II); and (c) polyol mixture, for preparing soft PU, that contains at least one (II).

Abstract: The invention relates to graft polyols with a bimodal particle size distribution and a total solid content of between 5 and 65 wt. %. Said polyols contain small particles with a particle diameter of between 0.05 and 0.7 μm and large particles with a particle diameter of between 0.4 and 5.0 μm, whereby the peaks of the large and small particles measured during a representation according to the light-scattering analysis method do not overlap. The total solid content with the defined particle sizes consists of a volumetric fraction of between 5 and 45% small particles and a volumetric fraction of between 95 and 55% large particles, said volumetric fractions totalling 100%. The invention also relates to a method for producing graft polyols of this type and to the use thereof for producing polyurethanes.

Abstract: Procedimiento para la obtención de plásticos celulares de poliuretano altamente elásticos mediante reacción de a) poliisocianatos con b) compuestos con al menos dos átomos e hidrógeno reactivos con grupos isocianato, caracterizado porque se emplea como compuestos con dos átomos de hidrógeno b reactivos con grupos isocianatos una mezcla, conteniendo, respectivamente referido al peso de la mezcla, b1)de un 5 hasta un 75 % en peso de al menos un poliol polímero, b2)de un 25 hasta un 95 % en peso de una mezcla, conteniendo, respectivamente referido al peso de la mezcla b2, b2i) de un 70 hasta un 98 % en peso de al menos un poliéteralcohol con un peso molecular en el intervalo de 35500 hasta 6500 g/mol, con una funcionalidad inferior o igual a 3 preferentemente de 2 a 3, con un contenido de óxido de etileno en el intervalo entre un 8 y un 20 % en peso, referido al peso del poliéteralcohol, y b2ii) de un 2 hasta un 30 5 en peso de al menos un poliéteralcohol con un peso molecular mayor a 4000 g/mol hasta 7000 g/mol, con una funcionalidad entre 4 y 8 y un contenido de óxido de etileno en el intervalo entre un 5 y un 15 % en peso, referido al peso del poliéteralcohol.
