Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a circuit for carrying out a trimming operation on integrated circuits (2) having a trimming circuit portion (1) which includes memory elements (10) and a means (8) of modifying the state of said memory elements (10), at least a first input or supply pin (IN), an output pin (OUT), and a second supply pin (GND). The method comprises the following steps: enabling a single pin (OUT) to receive trimming data by biasing the pin to outside its operating range; to acquire such data, obtaining a clock signal from a division of the bias potential of the trimming pin (OUT); obtaining the logic value of the trimming data from a different division of the bias potential of said pin (OUT); enabling serial acquisition of the data according to the clock signal; and transferring the data to the means (8) of modifying the state of the memory elements (10). Advantageously, the data are also transferred into a selection logic (11), by-passing the means (8) for modifying the state of the memory elements (10), on the occurrence of a simulated trimming operation.

Abstract: The frequency translator (72) is usable in a switching DC-DC converter of the type operating as a voltage regulator and as a battery charger. The frequency translator (72) receives at inputs a division voltage (VFB) proportional to a present value of the output voltage (VOUT) of the DC-DC converter (70), a reference voltage (VREF) correlated to a nominal value of the output voltage (VOUT), and a limiting signal (VL) indicative of a normal operation or of current limitation operation of the DC-DC converter (70), and supplies at an output (72u) a bias current (IBIAS) which is supplied to an input of an oscillator (32) supplying at an output a comparison signal (VC) presenting a periodic pattern with a frequency which is correlated to the bias current (IBIAS). In particular, the frequency translator (72) operates in a way such as to regulate a frequency translation of the comparison signal (VC) as a function of the difference between the division voltage (VFB) and the reference voltage (VREF) only when the DC-DC converter (70) is operating in the current limitation condition.

Abstract: A system for driving columns of a liquid crystal display includes logic circuitry operating in a supply path between a first and a second supply voltage in which the first supply voltage is higher than the second supply voltage. The logic circuitry is capable of generating first logic signals and second logic signals whose value is equal to the first or second supply voltage. The system includes two level shifters coupled to the logic circuitry and operating in a supply path between a third supply voltage greater than the first supply voltage and the second supply voltage; the level shifters are capable of raising the value of the second logic signals. The system also includes a first and a second pair of transistors having different supply paths and having an output terminal in common; the first and the second pair of transistors are coupled to the level shifters to determine the drive signal of a column. The system includes turnoff circuitry operating in a supply path between the third and the second supply voltage and coupled to the two level shifters. The turnoff circuitry is capable of keeping one of the two pairs of transistors in a turnoff state in the period of time of a frame when the other of the two pairs of transistors is operative.
