Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce a colorless and transparent polyimide excellent in thermal stability by reacting a specified fluorine-containing tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride with 4,4'-bis(3-aminophenoxy)diphenyl and an aromatic monoamine. CONSTITUTION:With 1mol 2,2-bis(3,4-dicarboxyphenyl)-1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoropropane dianhydride as a tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride represented byformula I, 0.9 to 1.0mol diamine compound [e.g. 4,4'-bis(3-aminophenoxy)diphenylsulfone] represented by formula II [X is SO2, C(CH3)2 or C(CF3)2] and 0.001 to 1.0mol aromatic monoamine expressed by the formula Z-NH2 (Z is a 6 to 15Cmonocyclic aromatic group, a condensed polycyclic aromatic group, etc.) are reacted. Thereby, the objective colorless and transparent polyimide having abasic skeleton composed of a repeating structural unit of formula III, blockedwith the compound of Z-NH2 and excellent in thermal stability can be produced.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a thermoplastic polyimide excellent in heat resistance and moldability by copolymerizing specific monomers. CONSTITUTION:The polyimide has a structural repeating unit represented by formula I (wherein R is a tetravalent group selected from among a 2-27C aliphatic group, an alicyclic group, a monocyclic aromatic group, a condensed aromatic group, and a noncondensed polycyclic aromatic group consisting of aromatic groups bonded together directly or through a crosslinking member). It is obtained preferably by reacting the aromatic diamine represented by formula II mainly with a tetracarboxylic dianhydride represented by formula III and thermally or chemically imidizing the resulting poly(amic acid).

CONSTITUTION:1mol diaminobenzene of formula I (R is H, 1-3C alkyl, etc.) (e.g. p-phenylenediamine) is reacted with 0.8-1 mol tetracarboxylic acid anhydride of formula II (C is CO, 0, etc.) [e.g. 4,4'-bis (3,4-dicarboxyphenoxy) biphenyl dianhydride] in the presence of 0.3-3 times 2Xm mol aromatic dicarboxylic acid anhydride of formula III (Z is bifunctional group such as 1-6C monocyclic aromatic group or condensed polycyclic aromatic group) (preferably phthalic anhydride) when difference in the number of mols between the compound of formula I and the compound of formula II is m to give the objective polymer having a repeating unit of formula IV, containing polymer ends hindered with the compound of formula III.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a polyimide having excellent properties, low dielectric properties and good moldability by imidating a polyamic acid which is a reaction product of an aromatic diamine compound with a tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride. CONSTITUTION:An aromatic diamine compound of the formula H2N-X-NH2 is reacted with a tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride mainly represented by formula I in an organic solvent. The obtained polyamic acid is thermally or chemically imidated to obtain the purpose polyimide. This is a lowly dielectric polyimide comprising structural units of formula II (wherein X is a bivalent group selected between a 12-27 C condensed polycyclic aromatic group containing at least one ether or thioether bond and a noncondensed polycyclic aromatic group composed of aromatic groups bonded together directly or through bridging members; R is a tetravalent group selected from among a 2-27 C aliphatic group, a cycloaliphatic group, a monocyclic aromatic group, a condensed polycyclic aromatic group, etc.).

A crystallization accelerator for a crystalline polyimide is obtd. by mixing the bisimide compd. with a carbon powder (e.g. carbon black) in a wt. ratio of (1:9)-(9:1). A polyimide resin compsn. is prepd. by mixing and melt kneading 100 pts.wt. crystalline polyimide with 1-50 pts.wt. above accelerator and, if necessary, up to 70 pts.wt. reinforcement (e.g. carbon fibers) with an extruder, etc.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a flexible circuit substrate material, comprising a thermal oxidation-resistant polyimide film and a metallic thin film, excellent in high- temperature durability in adhesion of the film to the thin film and further flexibility, etc., and useful as semiconductor IC chips, etc. CONSTITUTION: This flexible printed circuit substrate comprises (A) a thermal oxidation-resistant polyimide film, comprising preferably (i) an aromatic diamine and (ii) an aromatic acid dianhydride and having carbonyl and an ether in the chemical structure and (B) a metallic thin film having preferably 10-3000nm, more preferably 100-500nm thickness. Furthermore, the thin film of the component (B) is preferably a copper film and a copper layer is preferably formed on at least one surface of the film of the component (A) preferably by a sputtering method. The component (A) preferably has a recurring unit of formula I (X and Y are each 0 or CO; X is not equal to Y), preferably e.g. a recurring unit of formula II.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a liquid crystal oriented film with which the seizing can be reduced and a good orientational property of a liquid crystal can be obtained by using a polyamide having a specified structural unit as the major component of the oriented film. CONSTITUTION: This liquid crystal oriented film contains a polyamide having a structural unit represented by the formula as its major component. In this formula, each of X and Y is a hydrogen atom, alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, fluorine atom, chlorine atom or trifluoromethyl group and X and Y are the same or different, wherein the position of each of these substituents X and Y may be an ortho or meta position. To improve the adhesion of the oriented film to a substrate, an amino silicone or diamino silicone compound can be added to this oriented film. The oriented film is provided on the substrate by coating the substrate with a 0.1 to 30wt.% polyamide solution that is prepared by dissolving the polyamide in a solvent such as diglyme, butyl cellosolve, ethyl 'Carbitol(R)', etc., through using a coating method such as spraying, printing, etc., to form a coating film.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition having high heat resistance and excellent transparent colorlessness and useful for an optical filter to effectively cut visible light and near infrared light by compounding a polyimide resin containing perfluoroalkyl groups with a specific coloring matter. CONSTITUTION: This composition is composed of (A) a polyimide resin preferably consisting of a recurring unit of formula I (A is a tetracarboxylic acid residue; B is a diamine residue; X and Y are each a perfluoroalkyl; (l) is an integer of 0-6; (m) is an integer of 0-4: l+m=1-10), e.g. a polyimide resin of formula II and (B) at least one of a coloring matter having an absorption band in a visible region and/or a near infrared region (preferably, a coloring matter selected from anthraquinone pigments, azo pigments, qulnophthalone pigments and phthalocyanine pigments) soluble in the component A. Further, the component B is preferably 1-50wt.% based on the component A. The perfluoroalkyl is preferably trifluoromethyl.
