    Abstract: Contention for a resource in a multi-resource system is resolved by separately resolving contention for each resource.     Abstract: Techniques are described for wireless communication. A first method may include transmitting a reference signal from an access point over a shared spectrum to a user equipment (UE), and receiving a measurement of the reference signal from the UE. A second method may include receiving at a UE over a shared spectrum a reference signal from an access point, and transmitting a measurement of the reference signal to the access point. In each of the first and second methods, the measurement may indicate interference with the shared spectrum from outside of a clear channel assessment (CCA) range of the access point. A third method may include receiving a plurality of reference signal measurements, where each reference signal measurement corresponds to one of a plurality of access points and indicates interference with a shared spectrum from outside of a CCA range of the corresponding access point, and performing channel selection for the plurality of access points based at least in part on the received reference signal measurements.

    Abstract: Techniques are provided for association decisions by a user equipment (UE) or the like. In one example, there is provided a method that may involve discovering a peer UE, and determining a first metric for the peer UE. The method may further involve determining a second metric for a base station in a wireless area network (WAN).     Abstract: Providing for dynamic resource provisioning in wireless communication is described herein. By way of example, various wireless performance metrics are collected by respective network access points as an aggregate measure of wireless network performance. Aggregated data can be utilized to generate a performance model for the network and for individual access points. Changes to the data are updated to the model to provide a steady-state characterization of network performance. Wireless resources are generated for respective access points in a manner that optimizes wireless performance. Additionally, resource assignments can be updated at various intervals to re-optimize for existing wireless conditions, whether event driven or based on performance metrics. Accordingly, a robust and dynamic optimization is provided for wireless network resource provisioning that can accommodate heterogeneous access point networks in a changing topology.
