    Abstract: PURPOSE:To suppress the hight transmission as a whole, and to eliminate the deterioration of a modifier while preventing the reed abrasion, by forming the outermost layer with a low TiO2 content, the middle layer with a higher TiO2 content and the core layer containing a modifier into a three-layer concentric composite fiber. CONSTITUTION:A coated composite fiber comprising the outermost layer A, the middle layer B and the core layer concentrically, wherein the layers A and B consist of a fiber-forming synthetic polymer, e.g. polyethylene terephthalate, and the layer C consists of a synthetic polymer composition, e.g., a polyolefin containing a modifier, e.g. an antistatic agent, a flame-retardant, etc. The TiO2 contents in the layers A and B (wt%) satisfy the ranges 0

    Abstract: PURPOSE:Conjugate fibers in which a specific and readily soluble copolyester and a polyamide are combined so that they are hardly releasable but readily splittable by the action of an alkali. CONSTITUTION:Copolyester component A which consists of more than 2.4 mol% of ethylene 5-sodiumsulfoisophthalate and more than 70 mol% of ethylene terephthalate is used as the splitting (readily soluble in a solvent) component and a polyamide as nylon 6 is used as component B which is insoluble in the solvent and split. In the cross section of fibers, the component B is divided into plural sections with the component A. EFFECT:The resulting conjugate fibers are free from fluff and yarn break during processing and fabrication and splitting can be readily effected without failures. After split, resulting fibers consist of extremely fine filaments with modified cross section.
