    Abstract: PURPOSE: To enhance the moldability, impact resistance and taste characteristics of the title film by laminating polyester A containing particles of polyethylene terephthalate with a specific m.p. and a thermoplastic resin B with a specific m.p. CONSTITUTION: A polyester A-layer containing particles based on polyethylene terephthalate and/or polyethylene isophthalate with an m.p. of 140-245 deg.C is formed. A thermoplastic resin B with an m.p. of 140-245 deg.C is laminated on the A-layer to form a biaxially oriented thermoplastic resin film. In this case, the ratio t/d of the thickness (t) of the A-layer and the average particle size (d) of the particles contained in polyester A is set to 3-100 and the total number of the projections on the surface of the A-layer is set to 1-1000000/mm to obtain a thermoplastic film for laminating a metal panel. This film is thermally laminated to a metal plate at a high speed of 100m/min or more and the film laminated metal panel is molded into a can extremely reduced in the number of pinholes of the film.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance processing aptitude as an electric insulating film by specifying the thickness irregularity and elongation at break of a biaxially oriented polyethylene-2,6-naphthalate film in the longitudinal direction thereof. CONSTITUTION:A film must have thickness irregularity of 0.1 or less and elongation at break of 90% or more in the longitudinal direction thereof. Therefore, polyethylene naphthalate is usually extruded from an extruder at temp. of 280-320- deg.C after drying to be formed into a sheet and this sheet is cooled to 80 deg.C or lower to obtain an amorphous sheet. Next, the amorphous sheet is longitudinally oriented pref. by 1.2-2.5 times at 120-170 deg.C and subsequently laterally oriented by 2.5-5.0 times at 120-170 deg.C to form a biaxially oriented film which is, in turn, further oriented in orientation magnification of 0.5-3.5 times the first stage orientation magnification. As a whole, the longitudinal orientation magnification is set to 2-5 times. Subsequently, the oriented film is thermally fixed especially pref. at 240-255 deg.C and taken up while longitudinally slackened by 1-10% in a cooling zone.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce a metal vapor deposition film excellent in gas barrier property by pretreating a plastic film with CO2 low temp. plasma atmosphere when a metal vapor deposition film is to be formed on the surface of the plastic film. CONSTITUTION:A plastic film 5 such as polyethylene having 3-200mum thickness is unwound from an unwinding roll 2 in a vacuum chamber 1, wound on a drum 3, and heated at 30-60 deg.C, while metal 7 such as Al, Zn, Mg, and Sn in a crucible 6 is vaporized to form a metal vapor deposition film on the surface of the film 5. In this process, the surface of the film 5 before vapor deposition of metal is subjected to low temp. plasma treatment in a electrode cover 9 to which Co2 gas is supplied from a cylinder 11 of CO2. The plasma is generated in Pa pressure CO2 atmosphere with an energy E>=20W.min., (expressed by power (W) X time (min) per unit area (m )) supplied from a magnetron electrode 8. Then the produced metal vapor deposition film having excellent gas barrier property against oxygen or the like is wound up on a winding roller 4.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To upgrade resistance to shaving and resistance to dubbing by confining the relation between the layer thickness sand average particle diameter and the amount of content therein of polyester containing particles of two kinds or more in a specified range. CONSTITUTION:A layer (layer A) formed with a composition composed of polyester A containing particles of two kinds or more as a main component is laminated on a layer (layer B) composed of polyester B. In that case, the average diameter of particles contained in polyester A is made 0.4-10 times of the thickness of layer A, and the total amount of content of particles in the two layers in polyester A is made 3-50wt.%. The relative standard deviation of grain diameter distribution (standard deviation/average particle diameter) of the particles of two kinds or more in polyester A should be 0.6 or less respectively, particularly the deviation of 0.4 or less, and the particle diameter ratio (length/breadth of particle) should be 1.0-1.3 particles respectively, particularly globular particles are desired. Resistance to shaving and resistance to dubbing are upgraded by the above-mentioned arrangement.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the rate of synthetic reaction of diamond or diamond-like carbon film from a hydrocarbon and hydrogen using a chemical vapor deposition process, by using a hydrocarbon having cyano group as the raw material. CONSTITUTION:A substrate made of e.g. silicon is placed in a reaction tube and electromagnetic wave generated by a microwave oscillator is introduced into the reaction tube via a waveguide. At the same time, hydrogen and a hydrocarbon having cyano group are introduced from the top of the reaction tube and made to react with each other to produce diamond and a diamond-like carbon film on the substrate. The hydrocarbon having cyano group is e.e. cyanoacetylene, acrylonitrile, methacrylonitrile, etc. The activation of the raw material may be carried out by a hot filament, thermal energy of e.g. laser, etc., in addition to the above plasma activation method.
