    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a biaxially stretched laminated film having scratch resistance, running properties, flatness and oxidatation stability CONSTITUTION:A biaxially stretched lamifnated film is obtained by biaxially stretching a compsn. prepared by adding 0.1-10wt.% of polyoxyalkylene glycol with an average mol.wt. of 1,000-200,000 and 0.01-10wt.% of particles insoluble in polyester to polyes constituting a surface layer (sub-layer) so that the thickness of the sub-layer is set to 0.005-5mum. Therefore, this film is excellent in scratch resistance, running properties, flatness and oxidation stability and especially suitably used as a film for a magnetic recording medium.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the abrasion resistance during film formation and enable the repeated use of the resulting film by compounding a thermoplastic polyester resin with aluminum oxide contg. an element of the group VIII of the periodic table. CONSTITUTION:The compsn. comprises 100 pts.wt. thermoplastic polyester formable into film and 0.01-30 pts.wt. at least one kind of aluminum oxide powder selected from the group consisting of alpha, gamma, delta, and theta polymorphs, contg. 0.0001-5wt.% at least one element of the group VIII of the long-form periodic table, and having a specific surface area of 10m /g or higher and a secondary particle size of 0.01-2.0mum and is produced by adding the aluminum oxide to the reaction system for producing the polyester or by mixing the oxide into the polyester in a molten state. Pellets of the compsn. are dried enough, fed to an extruder to be melted at 260-350 deg.C, extruded into a film, cooled, and solidified to give an unoriented film, which is biaxially oriented and thermally treatred at 150-260 deg.C for 0.1-60sec, giving a biaxially oriented polyester film. At least one layer of the oriented film is laminated to give a laminated film.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition which can give a film having improved abrasion resistance and therefore being desirable for, e.g. a magnetic recording medium by adding aluminum oxide particles to a thermoplastic polyester composition. CONSTITUTION:The title composition is prepared by adding aluminum oxide particles to a thermoplastic polyester (e.g. polyethylene terephthalate). The aluminum oxide particles can be prepared by firing, e.g. bayerite. The specific surface area of the aluminum oxide particle added is desirably 10m /g or above. The amount of addition is desirably about 0.01-10 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. thermoplastic polyester. This composition can be made into a film excellent in abrasion resistance and therefore desirable for, e.g. a magnetic tape.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject film, excellent in transparency and antistatic properties and useful as magnetic tapes, etc., by adding specific amounts of a specified alkylbenzenesulfonate and a polyorganosiloxane to an ethylene terephthalate-based polyester. CONSTITUTION:The objective film obtained by adding lithium salt (e.g. lithium octylbenzenesulfonate) of a 10-30C alkylbenzenesulfonic acid in an amount of 0.1-10 pts.wt., preferably 0.2-3 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. polyester in which main constituent recurring units are ethylene terephthalate and a polyorganosiloxane (e.g. dimethylpolysiloxane) in an amount of 0.001-0.05, preferably 0.003-0.02 based on the lithium salt of the aforementioned alkylbenzenesulfonic acid to the above-mentioned polyester.
