SOLUTION: A plurality of X-direction wiring 20 and a plurality of Y- direction wiring crossing each other and plural electron emitting elements 18 connected to each crossing part of the X-direction wiring and the Y-direction wiring are provided on a back substrate 12. A front substrate having a phosphor screen is provided opposite to the back substrate, and the phosphor screen is excited by the emitted element so as to emit the visible light. The Y-direction wiring is formed into the layered structure having the first wiring 22a and the second wiring 22b of the metal foil overlapped with the first wiring and electrically continued to the first wiring.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To suppress the generation of Moire fringes in a state that sufficient luminance remains held by scanning an electronic beam at a speed of two folds of an image sending side, when a television image is received, and shifting a position of a scanning line of a first field and a scanning line of a second field by 1/2 of a scanning line interval of each field. CONSTITUTION:A first field and a second field are constituted of 262.5 pieces of scanning lines, respectively, and they are scanned without being superposed to each other, and as a result, the total number of scanning lines becomes 525 pieces. Scanning of 525 pieces is executed during 1/60 second in which a first field is sent, and scanning of 525 pieces is executed by shifting it a little during the next 1/60 second in which a second field is sent. As a result, the total number of scanning lines becomes 1050 pieces of two folds. Scanning of two folds of an image sending side is executed by each field, and as for an image signal corresponding thereto, it is allowable to apply the same signal to two pieces of continuous scanning lines, and also, it is allowable to apply it by synthesizing it with a signal of a field before one or more by using an image memory device.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the formability of a cathode-ray tube envelope and reduce the distortion by heat generated at respective part of the envelope during the heating process by using the metal at one part of a cathode-ray tube envelope, especially at funnel part having the intricate shape. CONSTITUTION:A metal 5 forming one part of a vacuum envelope 1 is located at the part connecting a pannel 4 and a funnel 6 in which a deflection yoke is to be mounted and its shape is a flat plate shape about in parallel with a face-plate 2. Several reinforcing member 9 for reinforcing the flat plate shaped metal 5 are providable. Thereby, the shape of the funnel 6 can be simplified so as to sharply improve the formability and the structure becomes fittable for the mass production. And the heat capacity distribution can be uniformalized so that the distortion by heat during the heating process can be reduced.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent picture tube in which superposition and gaps between images are prevented from being generated when the images on a plurality of small screen parts are synthesized to regenerate the whole image on a large screen part, by disposing at least one of reception parts which receive signals on a side which faces the large screen part and/or a mask part. CONSTITUTION:Signal sources which emit prescribed signals by impingement of electron beams are disposed on a large screen part 2 and/or a mask part 8, and at least one of reception parts which receive the signals is disposed on a side which faces the large screen part 2 and/or the mask part 8. When images formed on the small screen parts are photographed and synthesized on the large screen part 2 so as to regenerate the whole image on the large screen part 2, signals from the signal sources disposed on the large screen part 2 and/or the mask part 8 are received, so that deflection signals at electron beam deflecting parts and video signals inputted to electron gun parts 6-5 to 6-8 are controlled by these received signals. Hence, superposition and gaps between the images can be prevented from being generated upon synthesizing the images on the small screen parts.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To realize a large screen display of a high brightness and a high resolution, and moreover to improve the productivity, by positioning the borders between plural necks and a funnel, to make the line combining those border in an approximately straight line or a projected curve where the center is apart farther from a fluorescent screen. CONSTITUTION:The screen is formed by providing a projected face plate; plural necks 5a to 5l housing electron guns 6a to 6l respectively, lining up at least three in the linear direction; a fumnnel 4 extended being made larger in diameter in the direction from the neck to the face plate, and furnishing a deflection device to deflect horizontally and vertically the electron beams from the electron guns 6a to 6l, at the outside; and a skirt; and by composing piecemeal screens which are formed in small areas of fluorescent screens by the electron beams radiated from the electron guns. In this case, the positions of the borders between plural necks 5a to 5l and the funnel 4 are arranged to make the line combining those borders in an approximately straight line or a convex curve with the center apart farther from the fluorescent screen. In such a way, a large screen display with a high brightness and a high resolution can be realized.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a cathode ray tube provided with a film stable in electrification-proof performance by forming a SiO2 film from Si alcoholate on an external surface of a face plate. CONSTITUTION:A continuous SiO2 film is formed on an external surface of a face plate of a cathode-ray tube by coating and firing of Si alcoholate in processes of dipping and spin-coating and the like. This SiO2 film is preferably made 0.04mum or more and 0.15mum or less in thickness. This SiO2 film is earthed for use. Hence, a cathode-ray tube provided with an electrification-proof film, which is stable in electrification-proof performance, can be obtained with easy manufacture.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To form fine recessed and projected parts so as to obtain a cathode- ray tube with electrification-proof and glare-proof effects by forming a continuous film on a face plate external surface of a cathode-ray tube by coating of an alcoholic or aqueous solution containing silicon compound as a main element and mechanically polishing this continuous film. CONSTITUTION:A continuous film is formed on a face plate external surface of a color cathode-ray tube or the like by coating of an alcoholic or aqueous solution containing silicon compound as a main element. While pressure of about 2 kg/cm is put on this film by means of a soft cloth, the film is polished uniformly so that its surface roughness becomes about 0.1 mum or so. The film is formed 0.04mum to 2mum in thickness so as to have cracking-proof and electrification-proof effects. Surface resistance of the face plate is lowered by this method, and surface roughness and pitches of recessed and projected parts are regulated so as to obtain a cathode-ray tube preventive of electrification on the surface and besides preventive of reflection of external light.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To suppress the heat generation from a deflection device so as to obtain stabilized operation even in high horizontal deflection frequencies by producing a ceramic layer containing amorphous silicon oxide as binder on a magnetic piece, one of the parts constructing the deflection device. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic piece 10, one of the parts constructing a deflection device for color picture tube, is constructed with silicon steel plates. On the surface of the silicon steel plate a ceramic layer 11 containing amorphous silicon oxide or silicon hydroxide or their mixture as binder is produced. Thereby a deflection device of low heat generation and stabilized operation even in high horizontal deflection frequencies can be obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to form sharp edges by forming an insulation layer around an electron beam transmitting apperture of a shadow mask substrate, attaching the binding agent side of a transfer film to the insulation layer, and removing the transfer film from the insulation layer to leave a conductive thin film on the insulation layer only. CONSTITUTION:On the whole surface of one side of a shadow mask substrate 1 is provided an insulation layer 2, and a conductive layer 3 is provided on it. A transfer film consisting of binding agent 4, metallic thin film 5 and a beta film 6 with releasing agent is applied on the insulation layer 2 for performing transfer by effects of pressure or pressure and heat and the shadow mask is completed by the backing out of the binding agent. Since transfer is not performed unless required pressure or pressure and heat are applied, blurring occurs less in this method compared with liquid applying methods such as the roller method or doctor blade method. Thus edges can be formed extremely sharp, and the advantage of anti dielectric breakdown can be achieved.
