Abstract:
A power drive assembly (110) for controlling movement of a closure panel (102, 105) of a vehicle includes a closure panel (102, 105) that moves relative to the vehicle between open and closed positions, and a latch (108, 115) for cinching the closure panel (102, 105) to the vehicle. The drive assembly (110) includes an actuator (134), a first torque output (136) coupled to effect movement of the closure panel (102, 105), a second torque output (138) coupled to the latch (115), and a clutch assembly (114, 150) coupled between the actuator (134) and the torque outputs (136, 138) for selectively transferring torque between the actuator (134) and the torque outputs (136, 138).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a damping device for movable furniture parts, for example for doors or drawers, comprising a piston or plunger which is slidably guided in a hollow body, e.g. a cylinder, with said piston or plunger being impinged upon by spring force into its pushed-out position. According to the invention, the hollow body comprises at least one section of a spiral-shaped stay of the internal screw thread, and/or the piston or plunger comprises at least one section of a spiral-shaped stay of the external screw thread. The stays of the screw threads are glidingly supported one on top of the other, or cams or journals of the hollow body or of the piston or plunger are supported on a screw-thread section of the other component. The pitch of the stays of the screw threads is greater than the pitch at which self-locking occurs.
Abstract:
A power operating system for opening and closing a vehicle liftgate has a pair of drive units supported on the vehicle roof and connected to the liftgate for opening and closing the liftgate. Each drive unit includes a bracket that is secured to the vehicle body for supporting several parts including a reversible electric motor, a gear unit and a track. The electric motor drives a segmented sector inside the track via a gear reduction unit. The segmented sector includes an arcuate link that slides in an arcuate track portion of the track and a plurality of short sector links that are stored in a storage track portion when the liftgate is closed. The arcuate link has an outboard end that is pivotally connected to the liftgate to open and close the liftgate as the arcuate link is extended and retracted by the segmented rack.
Abstract:
A powered operator for sliding plug doors mounted on a movable carriage mounted overhead of an opening in the side wall of a transit vehicle, said doors including a single electric prime mover driving dual helical drives, each operating a door hanger attached to a single door panel over and away from said opening and for moving said carriage out of said side wall pocket. Door hangers used provide controlled deflection of door panels when in a fully open position. Drive linkages lock door panels when in a plugged position. The operator also provides guidance for the lower edge of said door panels during plugging and unplugging operations. Control elements and a central controller provides sequential door panel movement into and out of a pocket in the transit car side wall.
Abstract:
Rotary locks used on transit vehicle doors when opened and closed by a rotating helical door drive member. In a preferred embodiment, a first lock utilizes a negative thread portion of the helical drive. A second lock utilizes a rotating lock pawl and stop. The drive and lock can be used to operate door systems with and without separate door hangers. Compensation for camber variations in car structure is provided through the use of spherical mounts or drive member journals.
Abstract:
A door system of the swivel-sliding type for use in a vehicle, suitable in particular for a vehicle for public transport, the door system comprising at least one door panel; suspension means for the at least one door panel, which comprise a telescopic guide; and a drive system for the at least one door panel, wherein the drive system comprises at least one piston-cylinder assembly of which a first movable part is connected to the telescopic guide via a system of arms and rods so as to cause the telescopic guide in operation to perform a plugging movement, while a second part of the piston-cylinder assembly is provided with a projection extending into a track having a first section extending substantially transverse to the at least one door panel and an adjoining section extending substantially parallel to the telescopic guide, the projection forming a part of a pantograph construction mounted between a fixed pivot point and a point of attachment on the door panel, said pantograph construction transmitting the movement of the projection to the door.
Abstract:
A swinging gate operating mechanism having a crank and links which withdraw and insert the locking bolt as the linkages pass over center, and aligning linkage centers to allow the mechanism to rotate freely with a pair of indexing links to prevent the gate from rebounding out of the latch as the bolt impacts the jam post.
Abstract:
Door operator for a transit vehicle including a primary linkage device for driving the door between open and closed positions and for monitoring door position and a secondary linkage device for monitoring door position. Additionally, a device is provided for locking the door in closed position in association with the secondary linkage device.
Abstract:
A drive device for moving a flap of a vehicle includes a first fastening element which can be connected to one of a moveable component and a fixed component, and a housing tube which is axially movable relative to the first fastening element. The housing tube has an end opposite the first fastening element which carries a second fastening element which can be connected to the other of the moveable component and the fixed component. A spindle drive includes a threaded spindle having end mounted for rotation in the housing tube and fixed against axial movement with respect to the housing tube, and a spindle nut arranged on the threaded spindle. The spindle nut is connected to the first fastening element and secured against rotation with respect to the housing tube, and a rotary drive is arranged to drive the spindle in rotation.
