Abstract:
An electrical connector assembly (10) is provided for mounting on a printed circuit board (12) which includes at least a pair of mounting post-receiving holes (24) and at least one solder tail-receiving aperture (25). The assembly includes a housing (18) having at least a pair of mounting posts (22) for positioning in the holes (24) in the printed circuit board. At least one contact member (34) is mounted on the housing (18) and includes a solder tail (44) for positioning in the aperture (58) in the printed circuit board. The solder tail (44) has a generally straight side (44a) and a projecting hook (44b) on an opposite side (44c) for retaining the connector assembly on the printed circuit board. The width of the solder tail between the straight side (44a) and the outermost point of the hook (44b) on the opposite side (44c) is no greater than the width of the aperture (58), and the centerline (57) of the solder tail (44) between its sides is offset, in the direction of the hook, relative to the centerline (60) of the aperture (58) when the mounting posts (22) are aligned with the holes (24) in the printed circuit board (12).
Abstract:
Abstract:
The present disclosure is concerned with a special electric component such as a motor, an accumulator, or an electric subassembly having at least one soldering pin, in particular at least two soldering pins, for solder joining the special electric component to a printed circuit board, wherein the at least one soldering pin has a connection end that comprises a front section at the free end of the soldering pin and a first section adjacent the front section, where the front section has a width that is smaller than the width of the first section, in particular wherein the width of the front section is at least 25% smaller than the width of the first section, in particular at least 50% smaller. The present disclosure is also concerned with a printed circuit board assembly and an electric device.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a component for a printed circuit board (32) comprising a housing (10) on which at least one peg (28) is formed for engaging inside a hole (30) of the printed circuit board (32). This peg (28) has at least one detent lug (52) that projects in a radial direction with regard to the peg (28) beyond the outer periphery thereof. The detent lug (52) is placed and formed on the peg (28) in such a manner that the outer periphery of the peg (28) is smaller in the area of the detent lug (52) than the diameter of the hole (30) in the printed circuit board (32). The outer periphery of the section of the peg (28) projecting into the hole (30) in the printed circuit board (32) is formed in such a manner that, between the outer periphery of this section and the inner wall of the hole (30) in the printed circuit board (32), a space having a capillarity for solder is formed over at least a portion of the outer periphery, whereby during a soldering process, solder (50) located on the surface of the printed circuit board (32) enters, by means of capillary action, the space while filling the same.
Abstract:
An electronic component mounting structure includes a board (110) and an electronic component (130) mounted on a front surface of the board (110). The board (110) includes lands (112). The electronic component (130) includes a body (131) and terminals (132) extending from the body (131). Each terminal (132) is electrically connected to a corresponding one of the lands (112) of the board (110). The terminal (132) has a first terminal portion (132a) extending along the front surface of the board (110) and a second terminal portion (132b) extending toward the front surface of the board (110). Each land (112) includes a land portion electrically soldered to the first terminal portion (132a) and a blind hole (111) for receiving the second terminal portion (132b). The first terminal portion (132a) is soldered to the land portion in a reflow process under the condition that the second terminal portion (132b) is inserted in the blind hole (111).
