Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for controlling a driving map for a vehicle and, more specifically to a method for controlling a driving map for a vehicle which includes: a first step (S10) which receives signals from an inertial measurement unit (IMU) equipped on the vehicle; a second step (S20) which calculates inertial navigation such as a posture, a speed, and the position of the vehicle based on the signals received through the first step (S10), and corrects errors through a Kalman filter; a third step (S30) which corrects the information of a speed of a driving wheel and the information of an output speed of a transmission with a speed sensor mounted on the vehicle for recognizing a road surface; a fourth step (S40) which estimates a prospective vehicle speed caused by the operation of an engine based on the information collected through the third step (S30); a fifth step (S50) which compares the vehicle speed in the second step (S20) and the vehicle speed in the fourth step (S40); a sixth step (S60) which recognizes the road surface as a low-friction section if the difference of the vehicle speeds calculated through the fifth step (S50) exceeds a specific value; a seventh step (S70) which recognizes the road surface as a high-friction section if the difference of the vehicle speeds calculated through the fifth step (S50) is the specific value or lower; and an eighth step (S80) which adds and renews the information of the inertial navigation obtained through the second step (S20) and the information of the road surface obtained through the sixth step (S60) and the seventh step (S70) to map information. The method for controlling the driving map for the vehicle is effective in improving merchantable quality by autonomously renewing the map on a real time basis and recognizing the driving information of the vehicle.
