Abstract: PURPOSE: A muffler for vehicles having plastic case is provided to decrease the surface temperature of the muffler by secluding high temperature heat with an insulator. CONSTITUTION: A muffler(100) for vehicles having plastic case comprises a muffler core(110), an insulator(120), and a plastic outer case(130). The muffler core is made of steel materials, in which exhaust gas flows in and discharges. The insulator encloses an outer surface of the muffler core. The plastic outer case is formed into a coupling structure, in which an upper case is connected to a lower case with a connector. The insulator is composed of a combination of glass, ceramic, silica, alumina silicic, silicon carbide, and aramid fibers.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A muffler for a vehicle exhaust system is provided to reduce costs and weight by simplifying a structure and to reduce the noises cased by an engine booming and in oscillation booming a idle range. CONSTITUTION: A muffler(100) for a vehicle exhaust system comprises a case(10), an exhaust inlet pipe(30), an exhaust gas outlet pipe(50), and a variable valve(70). The internal space of the case is partitioned in to a first, a second, a third, and a fourth chambers by a first, a second, and a third baffles(11,12,13). The second and third chambers of the case are connected each other through the second baffle. The exhaust gas input pipe is connected from the first chamber to the forth chamber and a plurality of holes are formed in the outer circumferences of the second and third chambers. The exhaust gas output pipe is passed through from the first chamber to the fourth chamber, thereby coming out to the rear side of the case. The variable valve is installed in the first baffle, thereby selectively connecting the first and second chambers by the back pressure of the exhaust gas.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A muffler for a vehicle using leaded fuel is provided to maximize the interference effect of exhaust gas since the stream of the exhaust gas is divided into more than two parts in the inner pipe through the first and second holes of an entrance pipe. CONSTITUTION: A muffler(100) for a vehicle using leaded fuel comprises a case(10), an inner pipe(30), a noise absorbing member(50), an entrance pipe(70) and an exit pipe(90). The inner pipe is arranged in the case. The noise absorbing member is filled between the case and the inner pipe. The entrance pipe is connected to the case and one end of the inner pipe. The entrance pipe is arranged in the inner pipe. The exit pipe is connected to the case and the other end of the inner pipe. The exit pipe is arranged to be separated from the entrance pipe in the inner pipe. The entrance pipe comprises a plug(73) and a plurality of second holes(72). The plug is coupled to the inner end of the inner pipe with a first hole(71). The second holes are formed along the circumferential surface of the entrance pipe.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A muffler is provided to reduce exhaust pressure by forming a chamber inside a muffler through two baffles and rotating exhaust gas inside the chamber. CONSTITUTION: A muffler comprises a muffler housing(11) and first and second baffles(13a,13b). The first and the second chamber are separated and arranged inside the muffler housing to form a chamber. The exhaust gas which flows inside the chamber rotates. The inside of the housing is sealed on both openings of the muffler housing by a front cap(12) and a rear cap. An exhaust pipe(15) passes through the front cap, is extended to the inside of the housing, and passes through the first baffle.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A variable valve for a muffler is provided to improve noise reduction effect when an engine drives at a low speed by changing an exhaust gas path with gravity against the exhaust pressure and the exhaust press of the exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION: A variable valve for a muffler includes a valve body. The valve body controls an exhaust gas path(4ab) formed inside a muffler with the exhaust pressure of the exhaust gas and the weight thereof. The exhaust gas path is formed on a baffle(4a,4b) inside the inside of the muffler. The baffle divides the inside of the muffler into a front chamber and a central chamber. The exhaust gas path connects the front chamber and the central chamber.
