    Abstract: Novel photopolymerizable recording materials, in particular for the production of printing plates and relief plates, can be developed with water or an aqueous alkaline solution and predominantly consist of a photoinitiator-containing mixture of (a) one or more low molecular weight compounds having one or more photopolymerizable olefinically unsaturated double bonds and (b) one or more organic polymeric binders and contain a bisacylphosphine oxide as the photoinitiator. These recording materials are useful for the production of printing plates and relief plates.

    Abstract: In the cationic photopolymerisation of epoxides, cyclic ethers or alkylvinyl ethers in the presence of a photoinitiator system, the system comprises a mixt. of (a) at least one radical-generating photo initiator; and (b) at least one heteroatom saline cpd. with at least one gp. of formula (I) where R = opt. substd. alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, hetaryl, alkenylcarbonyl, alkynecarbonyl, alkoxycarbonyl, carbamoyl, alkylsulphonyl, arylsulphonylaminosulphinyl gp. substd. cycloalkyl gp. opt. substd. hetaryl cation, provided that the max. long wavelength absorption band of the cpd. is less than 350 nm.
