Abstract: The invention relates to methods for producing a porous metal-organic framework material which contains at least one at least bidentate compound that is coordinately bound to at least one metal ion. Said method comprises the step of reacting at least one metal compound with at least one at least bidentate organic compound which is capable of coordinately binding to the metal. The metal ion of the at least one metal compound is selected from the group of metals including titanium, zirconium, and hafnium. The at least bidentate compound is derived from a di-, tri- or tetracarboxylic acid and t he metal compound is an inorganic salt.

Abstract: Molded bodies having a low content of alkali and alkali earth metal ions can be obtained when in one stage of the process a porous oxide material is mixed with a metal oxide sol and/or a metal oxide. A molded body comprising at least one oxide material and at least one metal oxide is prepared in 5 stages: (i) mixing of at least one metal oxide with at least one metal oxide sol having a low content of alkali and alkali earth metals and/or at least one metal oxide of low alkali and alkali earth metal content; (ii) compaction of the mass; (iii) forming of the mass; (iv) drying of the molded body; and (v) calcining of the dried molded body. Independent claims are included for: (1) A molded body obtained as above; (2) a metal oxide sol having a content of alkali and alkali earth metal ions less than 800 ppm, obtained by hydrolysis of at least one metal acid ester; (3) a process for preparation of at least one alkylene oxide involving the 3 stages: (A) reaction of at least one alkene with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a molded body obtained as above as catalyst, which can act as catalysts for selective oxidation; (B) preparation of the alkene by dehydration of an alkane; (C) oxidation of the hydrogen produced in (II) to hydrogen peroxide, which is then used in stage (I).

Abstract: The present invention relates to processes for preparing a porous organometallic framework material, comprising the step of reacting at least one metal compound with at least one at least bidentate organic compound which can bond coordinatively to the metal, in the presence of a non-aqueous organic solvent, the metal being ScIII, YIII or a trivalent lanthanide, and the organic compound having at least two atoms each selected independently from the group consisting of oxygen, sulphur and nitrogen, and via which the organic compound can bond coordinatively to the metal, the reaction taking place with stirring and at a pressure of not more than 2 bar (absolute). The invention further relates to porous organometallic framework materials which have been prepared by this process, and also to their use.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a porous metal-organic framework comprising AlIII and at least one at least bidentate compound, wherein the at least one at least bidentate organic compound is a six-membered aromatic hydrocarbon ring A in which one or more ring carbons may be replaced by nitrogen and which has three substituents X and optionally one or more substituents selected from the group consisting of R, NRR′, OR, SR, F, Cl and Br, where R, R′ are each, independently of one another, hydrogen, methyl which may optionally be substituted by one or more fluorine atoms or ethyl which may optionally be substituted by one or more fluorine atoms and each X is, independently of the others, C(═O)O−, C(═S)O−, C(═O)S−, C(═S)S− or a protonated form thereof. The invention further provides a process for preparing it and provides for the use of the new porous metal-organic framework.
