    Abstract: PURPOSE:To get changes of two or more colors due to thermal change and increase the fashion sense, by providing a thermosensitive reversible discoloring substance on the surface of a resin wheel on which one or more kinds of thermoplastic resin selected from polyamide resin, polyester resin, etc., are formed by the injection molding. CONSTITUTION:A resin wheel for a bicycle is formed by the injection molding of one or more kinds of thermoplastic resin selected from polyamide resin, polyester resin, polystyrene resin, polycarbonate resin, and polyolefin resin. And a thermosensitive reversible discoloring substance is provided on the surface of the wheel. If necessary, an improving agent against shocks and/or fiber reinforcing agent are added in the thermoplastic resin. Electron donor, electron acceptor, and controller, as generally known are used. The thermosensitive reversible discoloring substance may be used independenly but it is preferably used with an ultraviolet ray absorbent, an oxidation inhibitor, etc.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a resin wheel which emits fluorescence regardless of the radiating direction of light by a headlamp or the like of an automobile and is excellent in visibility by dyeing the resin wheel by a fluorescent brightener after the resin wheel is formed by carrying out injection molding on polyamide resin or the other thermoplastic resin. CONSTITUTION:After a resin wheel is formed by carrying out injection molding on one or more kinds of thermoplactic resins (A) selected from polyamide resin, polyester resin, polystyrene resin, polycarbonate resin and polyolefine resin, this is dyed by a fluorescent brightner, and a fluorescent resin wheel for a bicycle is constituted. A resin composition may be constituted by containing an impact improver (B) in the thermoplastic resin (A). The resin composition may be constituted by containing a fiber reinforcing agent (C) in the thermoplastic resin (A) or a resin composition formed by containing the impact improver (B) in this. Thereby, a safe resin wheel which emits fluorescence reliably regardless of the light radiating direction when light is radiated, can be obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce the molded article excellent in plating film adhesive strength and surface appearance by roughening the surface of a molded article consisting of a liq.-crystal polyester shown by the specified formula and rock wool fibers with an acidic soln. and an alkaline soln. and metallizing the surface by plating. CONSTITUTION:One hundred pts.wt. of a liq.-crystal polyester shown by the formula (k/1/m/n=80/7.5/12.5/20) is mixed with 2-200 pts.wt. of the rock wool fibers (produced from basalt and having about 2-20mum average fiber diameter, about 20-650mu average fiber length and about 2-200 aspect ratio) to form the molded article of a liq.-crystal polymer. This molded article is cleaned with an acidic soln. (sulfuric acid, etc.) for about 7-90min, cleaned with an alkaline soln. (potassium hydroxide, etc.) for 2-120min to roughen its surface and then chemically plated. Consequently, a liq. polymer molded article with the surface metallized excellent in mechanical characteristic and plating thermal cycle is obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a flame-retarding polyester composition improved in flame retardancy, mechanical properties and residence stability during molding by mixing a melt-anisotropic polyester with a specified polybromostyrene and a filler. CONSTITUTION:A bromostyrene monomer comprising 60wt.% or above dibromostyrene and optionally monobromostyrene and tribromostyrene is polymerized to obtain a polybromostyrene (A) mainly consisting of structural units of the formula and having a number-average molecular weight of 1X10 -30X10 , a weight-average molecular weight of 2X10 -120X10 , an apparent density of 1.0g/cm or above, a compression density of 1.1g/cm or above, and an average pore diameter of 2.5mum or below. 100 pts.wt. melt-anisotropic polyester comprising units selected from among aromatic hydroxycarboxylate units, aromatic dioxy units, aromatic dicarbonyl units, ethylenedioxy units, etc., is mixed with 0.5-60 pts.wt. polymer A and 0-200 pts.wt. filler desirably glass fiber.
