Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject conjugate fiber having high commercial value, gloss, dry feeling and feeling and useful for a sports clothing, etc., by using a hydrophilic component and a fiber-forming property as constituting components and having respectively prescribed humidity-absorbing and releasing parameter (ΔMR) and a flatness degree. SOLUTION: This fiber is a core-sheath conjugate fiber comprising a hydrophilic component 1 such as a polyetheresteramide-based compound and a polyetherester-based compound and a fiber forming polymer 2 such as polyethylene terephthalate as constituting components, and has >=1.0 % of ΔMR and 1.05-3.0 of flatness degree of the formula: flatness degree = (long distance in fiber cross section/short distance in fiber cross section). Preferably, a compound having ΔMR>=8% is used as the hydrophilic component, and the hydrophilic component is used as one component and a conjugate fraction is 5-90 wt.%, then a hollow part 3 is in the conjugate fiber structure, thus hollow fraction is 1-20%.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To prepare the subject film suitable as a substrate film for a magnetic recording medium requiring fine and uniform surface projections, not causing occurrence of defect of foreign matters resulting from surface precipitate and contamination with contact materials, containing an amount of a low-molecular weight substance precipitated on the surface equal to or smaller than a specific amount. CONSTITUTION: This film is a polyethylene-2,6-naphthalate film containing low-molecular weight substance precipitated on the surface when heated at 170 deg.C for three hours and contains wax having 20-250 deg.C melting point. This film, for example, is obtained by heat-treating polyethylene-2,6-naphthalate granules in a gas atmosphere of noncirculating nitrogen under normal pressure at 150-250 deg.C and making it into a film.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the transparency, surface smoothness, abrasion resistance, etc., of a polyester molding such as a film or fiber by incorporating fine particles of a functional organic polymer which have low strength in deformation into a thermoplastic polyester. CONSTITUTION:Fine particles of an organic polymer having a functional group which have a 10%-deformation strength S10 satisfying the relationship of the formula are incorporated into a polyester [e.g. poly(ethylene terephthalate)] to produce the polyester composition. Examples of the particles include butyl acrylate/divinylbenzene copolymer particles and octyl acrylate/divinylbenzene copolymer particles. Due to the low strength, softness, and functional group, the particles incorporated have an improved affinity for the polyester and hence are less apt to fall off.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject themoplastic polyester composition capable of producing films and fibers excellent in electrostatic casting characteristics, abrasion resistance and particle dispersibility. CONSTITUTION:A polyester (e.g. polyethylene terephthalate, etc.), having 5X10 to 5X10 OMEGA.cm of melt resistivity is compounded with silica powder having >=2 D1/D2, a ratio of a particle size (D1 mmu) measured by dynamic light scattering and one (D2 mmu) measured by nitrogen gas absorption, and straight or branched shape of 60-600mmu D1 and 41-100mmu size. Total content of silica in the composition is 1-20wt.%, preferably 0.01-5wt.% from the stand point of slipperiness and surface smoothness of a molded article.
