Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system capable of redistributing ink on an image receiving member and decreasing a banding effect in an image. SOLUTION: The system comprises an ink applicator for applying the gel ink on the receiving member when the gel ink passes the side of the ink applicator, and a fluid flow directing apparatus constituted so as to direct a fluid flow in the direction of the image receiving member so that the ink is redistributed on the image receiving member for achieving the reflow and equalization of the ink on the receiving member. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate lines in an image caused by (a) misaligned ejection holes in print head modules which are adjacent to each other and disposed in a zigzag manner and/or (b) defective ejection holes due to initial statistical failure. SOLUTION: A method for laterally aligning ejector modules having fluid ejection nozzles in a print head array comprises a step of disposing a plurality of first nozzles including first intervals between laterally adjacent first nozzles in a first module, a step of disposing a plurality of second nozzles at an end of a second module which is a step of partially overlapping them with the plurality of first nozzles in the lateral direction at the one end of the second module, a step of determining aligning pairs between the first alignment nozzles and second alignment nozzles according to a predetermined method, and a step of assigning the first and second alignment nozzles as first and second boundaries for printing drive. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a print head capable of high quality and high speed print ing. SOLUTION: There is disclosed a print head 34 used in a printer. In the print head 34, a propelling medium flows in a fluid passage toward a printing medium 38 and a printing material such as ink or toner is controlled to be introduced into the propelling medium flow such that sufficient energy for moving to the printing medium 38 is supplied to the them. A plurality of fluid passages for directing the propelling medium flow and printing material enable high quality and high resolution printing. The plurality of printing materials are introduced into the passage to be mixed in the fluid passage before printing on the printing medium 38. The printing materials are mixed and superposed on the printing medium 38 without executing aligning of a registor. One embodiment of a full-color printer having a single fluid passage is disclosed.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermally meltable ink-jet ink compsn. that exhibits a viscosity as low as about 1-10cP at a temp. of about 125-160 deg.C, gives an image exhibiting a minimal blur between colors and an excellent durability, does not contain water, and is suitable for the acoustic ink-jet printing process. SOLUTION: This compsn. comprises a colorant and a reversibly crosslinkable vehicle obtd. from a reaction product of an anhydride with an org. amine and has a viscosity of about 1-25cP at a temp. of about 125-185 deg.C. This printing process includes the step of supplying an ink compsn. comprising a colorant and a reversibly crosslinkable vehicle obtd. from a reaction product of an anhydride with an org. amine and having a viscosity of about 1-25cP at a temp. of about 125-185 deg.C to an acoustic ink-jet printer and the step of jetting liq. drops of the compsn. to a substrate in a pattern of a desired image.
