Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for monitoring a mobile computing arrangement.SOLUTION: The arrangement may include a sensor and a processor. The sensor detects first data of an event including a directional orientation and a motion of the arrangement. The processor compares the first data to second data to determine if at least one predetermined procedure is to be executed. The second data may include a predetermined threshold range of changes in the directional orientation and the motion. If the predetermined procedure is to be executed, the processor selects the predetermined procedure which corresponds to the event, as a function of the first data. Subsequently, the predetermined procedure is executed.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computing device capable of accessing a specific programming contact from the outside of a computer case when a program instruction is broken.SOLUTION: A computing device includes: a processor that is coupled with a boundary-scan bus 412 that accesses through a wireless communication port 506 accessible to the outside of a housing 402 of the computing device; a memory 418 that stores a boot loader routine; and an interface recovery module 502 that transmits the updated version of a program instruction. When the program instruction is broken, the computing device transmits the updated version of the boot loader routine stored in the memory 418 through the boundary-scan bus 412, and the processor accesses the boundary-scan bus 412 and obtains the updated version of the boot loader routine stored in the memory 418 from the interface recovery module 502 through the wireless communication port 506.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resistive touch screen pad that does not require noise generating switching to estimate a position and pressure at the point of contact. SOLUTION: The apparatus includes a detection circuit which provides a first reference voltage to a first and a second electrode of a first conductive layer of a resistive touch screen 70 and provides a second reference voltage to a first and a second electrode of a second conductive layer of the resistive touch screen 70. The detection circuit maintains the first and second reference voltages under quiescent conditions and when the first and second conductive layers couple together. The method includes applying substantially equal voltages to the first and second electrodes of the first conductive layer of the resistive touch screen 70. Substantially equal voltages are applied to the first and second electrodes of the second conductive layer of the resistive touch screen 70. Approximately zero current is conducted in the first and second conductive layers of the resistive touch screen 70 under quiescent conditions. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-dimensional color image display device embodied by a hand held type or wearable apparatus and a method for displaying the same. SOLUTION: The device for displaying the two-dimensional color image for viewing by the human eyes on a target includes an energizable laser which projects a laser beam toward the target when energized, a scanner which scans the laser beam along a plurality of optical paths over the target, and a controller which is connected operatively to the laser in the selected position of the laser beam in at least one among the prescribed optical paths in order to generate individual light pixels at a refresh speed to sustain the pixels so as to enable the eyes to surely see the image consisting of the light patterns of the pixels on the target in the selected position and is operated to energize the same. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method to allow users to easily operate customized functions, through using mapping structure elements that an end-user at a mobile host device can map each key of a keypad, to predefined characters or functions in a keypad structure (for example, customization is performed for a host unit through an originally application/software defined in advance). SOLUTION: A constructible keypad, which allows users to perform operations for predefined functions that are specified by approach to special characters or by a user's indications merely by touching, is provided. Thereby, performing customized functions, specific to each end-user, is facilitated. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply electric power to an RF device (e.g. an RF tag) including a communication arrangement and an input arrangement. SOLUTION: A device 24 sends and/or receives data regarding a target device 38. The RF tag 106 can include a memory for storing data of the target device 38. The input arrangement is connected to the target device 38 and the RF tag 106 obtains electric power from the target device 38 through the input arrangement. The RF tag 106 is provided with a viable alternative to a full reliance on a stand alone battery. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device or a small image forming unit for forming the image of a code symbol by using a minimum amount of power. SOLUTION: The semiconductor device or the small image forming unit for forming the image of the optical code symbol has the pixels of not more than 1024. The short size of each pixel is 2 μm to 4 μm and it has the aspect ratio of 2 to 1. It is desirable that the pixels are arranged in a single row. The optical and electrical system of the small image forming unit is optimized so that the volume of one-dimension or the larger dimension on the small image forming unit is reduced. A bar code reader including a sensor for imaging a field of view of the reader having the single semiconductor device is further supplied. A device or technology for reducing and/or eliminating necessity for target illumination by the image forming unit are supplied. Thus, overall power consumed by the image forming unit and/or the whole size is reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single integrated circuit used in two RF transceivers and an optionally mounted auto ID reader. SOLUTION: An auto ID reader and one or two radio frequency transceivers are supported on a common support having a predetermined form factor, such as that of a scan engine module commonly utilized in hand-held bar code symbol scanners. Common digital processing circuitry is used for processing a signal from the auto ID sensor and an RF transceiver baseband signal, making a highly integrated and compact arrangement. A single Fast Fourier Transform circuit is utilized for each transceiver.
