    Abstract: Integrated method for the preparation of trioxane from formaldehyde, comp rising the steps: a) introduction of a feeding flow A1 containing formaldehy de and water and a return flow B3 consisting essentially of formaldehyde and trioxane into a formaldehyde concentration unit, wherein said flows are sep arated into a formaldehyde-rich flow A2 and a flow A3 consisting essentially of water; b) introduction of a product flow C1, containing trioxane, water, and formaldehyde, a return flow E1 containing trioxane, water, and formalde hyde, and possibly flow A2 into a first low-pressure distillation column, wh erein said flows are distilled at a pressure of from 0.1 to 1.5 atmospheres, with a trioxane-enriched flow B1 containing predominantly trioxane, and als o water and formaldehyde, a slough removal flow B2 consisting essentially of formaldehyde and water, and the return flow B3 containing predominantly wat er, and also formaldehyde and trioxane removed as a side removal flow; c) in troduction of a slough removal flow B2 and possibly the flow A2 into a triox ane synthesis reactor, wherein said flows are allowed to react, and wherein the flow C1 containing trioxane, water, and formaldehyde is obtained; d) int roduction of a flow B1 into a mid-pressure distillation column, wherein said flow is distilled at a pressure of from 1.0 to3.0 atmospheres, wherein a lo w boiler stream D1 containing methanol, methylal, and methylformate,and a st ream D2 containing predominantly trioxane and also formaldehyde and water ar e obtained; e) introduction of a stream D2 into a high-pressure distillation column, wherein said stream is distilled at a pressure of from 2.5 to 10.0 atmospheres, wherein the return flow E1 contains trioxane, water, and formal dehyde, and a product flow E2 consisting essentially of trioxane is obtained ; wherein flow A2 can be introduced into either the low-pressure distillatio n column or into the trioxane-35 synthesis reactor, or into both.

    Abstract: Polytetrahydrofuran, tetrahydrofuran copolymers, diesters or monoesters of these polymers are prepared by polymerizing tetrahydro- furan in the presence of at least one telogen and/or comonomer on a heterogeneous carrier catalyst which contains on an oxidic carrier material as active mass a catalytically active amount of at least one oxygenous molybdenum and/or tungsten compound and, when the precursor compounds of the active mass have been applied to the carrier material precursor, has been calcined at temperatures of between 500 .degree.C and 1000 .degree.C. The catalyst used contains a promotor whic h comprises at least one element or a compound of an element of the 2nd, 3rd including the lanthanides, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th or 14th group of the periodic system of elements.

    Abstract: A process for preparing halogen-free, reactive polyisobutene having a terminal double bond content of more than 60 mol % and an average molecular weight Mn of 800-3000 dalton by cationic polymerization in the liquid phase of isobutene over an acidic, essentially halogen-free heterogeneous catalyst, wherea) a hydrocarbon mixture of essentially C4-hydrocarbons comprising isobutene in an amount of from 10 to 80% by weight is used as the starting material andb) polymerization is carried out continuously at from -30 to 0° C. with average starting material residence times of one hour or less, where the temperature and the residence time are selected such that the isobutene conversion is less than 60% and, after separation from the resulting polyisobutene, the isobutene is either enriched in the partially converted hydrocarbon mixture and returned to the polymerization or passed to another isobutene reaction coupled with the polymerization.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing reactive halogen-free polyisobutene containing more than 60 mole % terminal double bonds and having a mean molecular weight Mn of between 800 and 3,000 dalton, by cationic polymerization of isobutene in the liquid phase on an acid, substantially halogen-free heterogeneous catalyst. According to said method a) an isobutene-containing hydrocarbon mixture which consists essentially of C4 hydrocarbons and contains between 10 and 80 % by weight isobutene is used as educt; and b) continuous polymerization is carried out at between -30 and 0 DEG C and mean dwell times of the educt of no more than one hour, the temperature and dwell time being chosen such that isobutene conversion is less than 60 %. After separation of the resulting polyisobutene present in the fully reacted hydrocarbon mixture the isobutene is either enriched and returned to the polymerization stage or fed to another isobutene conversion stage which is coupled to the polymerization stage.
