    Abstract: PURPOSE: To estimate an individual resistance element at a high speed and with good accuracy without breaking down a circuit in a network which contains the resistance element. CONSTITUTION: This in an apparatus for estimating the resistance of a resistive element for a network containing the resistive element. The apparatus is provided with row-direction wiring-end-current measuring parts (101, 102, 110, 103, 107, 105, 106), which select one out of row-direction wiring parts, which apply a voltage and which measure a transverse-direction wiring-end current, a node analytical equation at a terminal, an error equation by which the difference between a row-direction wiring-end estimation current and the row-direction wiring-end current measured by the row-direction wiring-end measuring parts becomes zero, and estimation parts (105, 104, 107) which estimate the resistance value of the resistive element on the basis of respective prescribed wiring resistance values of row/column-direction wiring parts.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of the variation of the performance of a heating element caused by the substrate constituting the heating element by forming air bubble forming parts high in boiling start reproducibility on the surface of the heating element in a uniformly distributed state. CONSTITUTION: When voltage is applied between Al electrodes 7, the part held between the electrodes of an HfB2 resistor layer 6 generates heat and the liquid in contact with the surface 1 of a heating element is heated through the surface of the heating element. At this time, an air bubble is generated and grown in each of the recessed parts 2 provided to the surface of the heating element at temp. lower than that of other place. The air bubble thus formed is grown upwardly from the recessed parts 2 so as to crawl along the surface direction of the heating element and united with the air bubble grown from the adjacent recessed part before long to cover the entire surface of the heating element. Boiling is started from a large number of the recessed parts 2 almost at the same time and, since bubbling points are regularly arranged in a lattice form, the air bubbles are united over the entire surface region of the heating element almost at the same time. Therefore, the stability of a boiling state is high and the variation of performance due to the heating element is reduced.

In addition, the plane type image forming device is formed with these electron releasing elements on rectangular strip-shaped insulating substrates 18 which are disposed separately from the insulating substrate 13 and continue in a column direction. This process is for production of such device. This plane type image forming device is also constituted by forming the electron releasing elements 16 on the spacer members and this process is for production of such device.

CONSTITUTION:In a recording head wherein a heating element layer 2 is provided on a substrate, and a discharge opening 5... interconnected to a passage B is provided on a side of its surface and besides, a selective electrode E 1 and a common electrode E 2, a protective layer D, and a common liquid chamber C are provided, sudden rise in temperature by which a heating part between the electrodes E 1, E 2 causes film boiling according to a pulse signal corresponding to a recording signal from the electrodes E 1, E 2 is generated in a short time (at 300 deg.C or higher) to generate a bubble 6. Then, the bubble 6 is interconnected to the open air at an end part A to the heating element layer side 2 of the discharge opening 5 to form a stable liquid drop (a broken line 7). Further, a liquid passage B is made not to be thoroughly intercepted under a growing stage of the bubble at that time, and a good refilling characteristic for succeeding ink recording is secured.

When the compositional ratio of the protecting layer 26 is changed, the particle size of crystals of Ta is changed and the surface roughness of the protecting layer 26 is changed. In this case, a base body for an ink jet recording head is such that has the surface roughness of the heat operating part expressed by the maximum height according to JIS not larger than the critical radius of the bubble of ink at a boiling point +100 deg.C of the ink.
