Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce a cost, by a method wherein a hold part, provided at its upper end with a screw part and at its lower end with a projected part, is securely mounted to a frame in a manner to extend through the frame. CONSTITUTION:A holding part 108 is provided at its upper end with a screw part 108b and at its lower end with a projected part 108a. The holding part 108 is securely mounted to a frame 104 by welding or caulking in a manner to extend through the frame 104. This constitution not only secures the holding part 8 to the frame 104 but also performs function of holding a stator 102a and locking a spring 106 only by securing the holding part 108 to the frame 104. As a result, the material cost of the frame 104 is reduced, the number of processings is reduced, and besides size precision stability is improved.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain a stable slide between a ball and a ball seat in a compressor for a refrigerator or the like, by forming an annular groove into which a bevel shape press-fit spring is engaged, in the inner wall of a ball joint type piston, adjacent to a step in an inclined part. CONSTITUTION:The bore diameter D of a cavity 14' in a piston 14 is made to be larger than the diameter of skirt part 18' of a bevel shape compression spring 18, and an inclined part step 21 which is so inclined that the cavity is narrower and narrower inward is formed in the inner wall surface of the piston 14. Further, an annular groove 19 is formed adjacent to the step 21. When the bevel shape compression spring 18 is pushed into the cavity 14' in such a condition that the ball member 17 on a connecting rod 16 is made into contact with a ball seat 15 in the piston 14, the inclined part step 21 pushes the skirt part 18' which is therefore fitted into the annular groove 19 without the inner surface of the piston being scratched. Thus, the skirt part of the compression spring may be fitted into the piston groove always in the horizontal direction, thereby it is possible to stably obtain a slide between the ball on the connecting rod and the piston ball seat.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the total height of a compressor, by a method wherein caulking of top end of a bar to fix a balance weight to a stator end ring of electrically-driven element is performed in a recess formed in the balance weight. CONSTITUTION:A bar 13 formed on an end surface 12-a of a rotor 11 to constitute an electrically-driven element penetrates a hole 14-b of a balance weight 14, and the balance weight 14 is overlaid on the end surface 12-a of the end ring 12. In order to fix the balance weight 14 to the end ring 12, caulking of the bar top end 13-a is performed within a recess 14-a formed in the balance weight 14. In this constitution, projection at top end of the bar of the caulked portion can be enclosed within the total height of the balance weight thereby the total height of the compressor can be reduced.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve rigidity of a case where an electric motor and compressing elements are stored and also to restrain resonance from occurring by forming a circular wave-type shape part on the resonance surface of the case. CONSTITUTION:A sealed case is built of the upper case 1 and the lower case 2 so as to store an electric motor and compressing elements therein. A circular wave-type shape part 5 is formed on the bottom surface of the lower case 2 which is a resonance point with the least bend in order to enlarge the degree of bend on the bottom surface of the lower case 2 and to improve rigidity thereon. By means of such a formation, noise wave form becomes as B which indicates that the noise level drops by 5-10dB from that of the A line in the case of flat surface of the lower case.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent a capillary tube from clogging due to the growth of contaminants by a method wherein a dryer with water-absorbent, which is enclosed in a cafe and held between two filters, is mounted on a refrigerant path between a condenser and an expansion device and a third filter is arranged in a case located apart from the filters. CONSTITUTION:A dryer is provided with a water-absorbent, e.g. a molecular sieve 13, enclosed in a metallic case 12 and first and second filters 14a and 14b which hold the molecular sieve 13 from both sides to fix it and mounted on a refrigerant path between a condenser 2 and an expansion device 4. A third filter 15 is held in a cup-shaped holder 16 which is put in the case 12 and fixed at a position a short distance away from the first and second filters 14a and 14b so that the third filter 15 is prevented from coming in contact with the first and second filters 14a and 14b and the molecular sieve 13. Thereby, contaminants to be deposited on a compressor, the condenser 2, an evaporator and a capillary tube as the expansion device 4 as well are filtered out.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a compact two-cylinder rotary compressor of low noise by simplifying a muffler so as to release discharge flow from each compression chamber with phase difference in the muffler. CONSTITUTION:A crankshaft 22 is provided with a first and a second eccentric shafts 23, 24 with approximately 180 deg. phase in the eccentric direction. A first middle plate 28 is provided with a first discharge opening 30 for the passing of discharge flow from a first compression chamber 29, and a first cylinder 31 is provided with a first communicating hole 33 for leading the discharge flow to a muffler 32. A second middle plate 34 is provided with the first communicating hole 33 for the passing of discharge flow from the first compression chamber 29, and the first communicating hole 33 is communicated with a second communicating hole 35. A non-rotor side housing 36 is provided with a second discharge opening 38 for the passing of discharge flow from a second compression chamber 37 as well as with a release hole 39 communicated with the second communicating hole 35 so as to release discharge flow from the first compression chamber 29 to a muffler 32. A second cylinder 40 forms the second compression chamber 37 together with the second middle plate 34 and the non-rotor side housing 36 and is provided with the second communicating hole 35 for communicating the first communicating hole 33 and the release hole 39.
