PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform surely finalization processing for an optical recording medium. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a system controller 10 in which finalization processing is performed by dividing finalization processing into a plurality of processing, and every time one processing is finished, the effect that the processing is finished is stored in a flash memory 16. Remaining capacity of a battery is confirmed for each divided processing, even if finalization is interrupted when the capacity of the battery becomes insufficient, finalization can be restarted when the capacity of the battery becomes sufficient, and it can be prevented that the device becomes a halfway state in which postscript and reproduction cannot be performed. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate charging capacity using the same part even tn the case of a change in a configuration of battery cells, by determining the charging current or the charging voltage of a storage means for calculating the charging capacity of a storage means, storing the data of a set value used for calculating a charging capacity, and making the data of a set value variable. SOLUTION: In calculating the value of the charging capacity of a battery cell train 26 charged by a charger 20, the charging current or the charging voltage of the battery cell train 26 is determined, and the charging capacity into the battery cell train 26 is calculated by a charging capacity calculating means 24. The set value used for calculating the charging capacity meeting the configuration of the battery cell train 26 is stored in the table of a EEPROM 25, and the set value is changed by a set value changing means 24b according to the configuration of the battery cell train 26 for calculating the charging capacity. Therefore, the charging amount indicating highly accurate remaining capacity is obtained, therefore a microcomputer 24 controls the charging and the discharging of the battery cell train 26 based on the data on the remaining capacity.

PURPOSE:To inhibit recording to a tape and writing to an MIC by sliding an erroneous erasing prevention lug provided in a tape cassette. CONSTITUTION:When data are inputted, an erroneous erasing prevention detecting circuit detects the condition of an erroneous erasing prevention and hole 26a which is linked to the opening and closing motion of an erroneous erasing prevention lug 26 provided on a cassette 12 with memory. When an opened condition of the hole 26a is detected, a data writing to an MIC is permitted and, simultaneously, a recording to a magnetic tape is allowed. On the other hand, if the lug 26 is closed, the hole 26a is also closed and these conditions are detected and a data writing to the MIC is inhibited. Thus, by providing a function to inhibit a data writing to the MIC for the lug 26 in addition to a recording inhibit to the magnetic tape, the necessity to newly provide a data writing inhibit means for the MIC is eliminated.

PURPOSE:To enable the correction of a trouble generated within an electronic device, such as VTR, without modifying the device itself when this trouble is discovered after production. CONSTITUTION:A microcomputer 12 which can communicate with a peripheral apparatus 2a via a communication format 3a is included in a VTR body 1a. Data for correction is transmitted from the peripheral apparatus 2a to the microcomputer 12 and the correction data is stored into an EEPROM 13 which is a non-volatile memory. The microcomputer 12 receives this correction data and executes the processing of correcting the trouble of a circuit 14. The correct data is used by using the correction data and substituting this data for the data of the bug of a ROM if, for example the circuit 14 is the ROM and when the bug thereof is discovered.

PURPOSE:To realize direct communication between the slave function devices in a simple constitution by adding a switch circuit between serial input and output terminals and a control means for the switch circuit to a prescribed slave function device. CONSTITUTION:The switch is carried out between a serial input terminal SI and a serial output terminal SO via a switch circuit 31 of a prescribed slave function device 30. Thus the terminal SI of the device 30 is connected to the terminal SO of another slave function device 20. In the same way, the terminal SO of the device 30 is connected to the terminal SI of the device 20. In such a way, the communication of serial data is possible between both devices 20 and 30. Then the communication is simply attained between slave function devices just with use of a switch circuit 3.

SOLUTION: A keyword search part 121 searches for a keyword set to image data, from a recording medium on the basis of a keyword. and an imaged information search part 122 searches for imaged information set to the image data, from the recording medium on the basis of imaged information. A similar information-set image search part 114 searches for similar image data being image data having a high correlation with a found keyword or imaged information, on the basis of the keyword found by the keyword search part 121 or the imaged information found by the imaged information search part 122, and a keyword extraction part 115 extracts a keyword from the similar image data, and a keyword setting part 116 sets the extracted keyword to the image data from which the keyword has been found by the keyword search part 121 or the imaged information search part 122, whereby a desired image can be searched more quickly and surely.
