    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to improve the adhesion of optical articles to a mold to thereby effect the improvement of molding yields and the reduction of cost by adding an unsaturated amino compound to a feedstock solution based on a monomer having at least two radical-polymerizable unsaturations when it is cast-polymerized. SOLUTION: In cast-polymerizing a feedstock solution based on a monomer having at least two radical-polymerizable unsaturations, an unsaturated amino compound is added to the polymerization solution. It is desirable that 10-10,000ppm of the amino compound is added to the solution. The amino compound is desirably one having a (meth)acryloyl group in the molecule, more desirably one represented by, e.g. the formula (R is hydrogen or a 1-5C aliphatic hydrocarbon residue). The monomer as the starting material is desirably a thio(meth)acrylate compound or a urethane (meth)acrylate compound.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To sufficiently remove a soiling without damaging smoothness, uniformity, etc., and without damaging a surface by executing a washing stage with a water under high pressure at the time of washing an optical material. CONSTITUTION: The washing stage using high pressure spraying of water from a spray nozzle is executed at the time of washing the optical material such as eyeglass lens and camera lens formed with a (meth)-acrylate resin. Moreover, at least either one of a surfactant based washing stage and a rinsing stage is executed. The washing is executed by spraying water under high pressure to the optical material at 0-90 deg.C, preferably 5-80 deg.C. In this way, the soiling is sufficiently removed without causing a dry spot on the surface of a resin made optical material.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject resin high in refractive index, Abbe number and light resistance, useful for spectacle lens, etc., by radical polymerization of a monomer composition containing a sulfurized compound of specific structure. CONSTITUTION:The objective resin can be obtained by radical polymerization of a monomer composition containing >=5wt.% of a compound of formula I and/or a compound of formula II (1 and n are each 1-3; m is 0-3; x is 1-4; R is H or methyl). It is preferable that the compound of the formula I or the compound of the formula II be synthesized by dehydrohalogenation between a mercaptan compound of formula III and styrene nuclear-substituted by alkyl halide or (meth)acrylic acid chloride, respectively, in the presence of an alkali.

CONSTITUTION:(A) A urethane (meth)acrylate obtained by a process for preparing (meth)acrylate by reacting 1mol hydroxyl group containing two hydroxyl groups in one molecule with 0.3-0.7mol (meth)acrylic acid and by a process for reacting the (meth)acrylate with a polyfunctional isocyanate compound is blended with (B) a compound containing one radical-polymerizable double bond in one molecule and (C) a compound containing two radical-polymerizable double bonds in one molecule as polymerization components in the weight ratio of 50-80:10-50:3-10 (total 100).

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve light guiding property, and improve luminance by combining a light guide plate made of the resin, which includes the phosphoer, and a mercury lamp as a light source. CONSTITUTION:A light guide plate is made of the resin, for example, obtained by performing the polymerization after mixing the phosphor of a red group, a green group and a blue group in the polymeric monomer or oligomer. The oligomer obtained by prepolymerizing the polymeric monomer, which is mainly composed of methylmethacrilate, or the monomer, which is mainly composed of methylmethacrilate, is desirably used. As a light source, the mercury lamp, which is not coated with the phosphor to eliminate the consumption of optical energy due to the quantum yield of the phosphor of the surface of the lamp and improve the utilization efficiency of the optical energy, is desirably used. A surface light source is thereby obtained by combining the resin, which includes the phosphor, and a mercury lamp as a light.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the display device which is excellent in uniform space setting and durability and to prevent the impairment of the characteristics intrinsic to a film by using two specific powders as spacers. CONSTITUTION:The spacers 1, 2 consist of the spherical or fibrous hard powder 1 and the cylindrical or hemispherical powder 2 only one flat surface of which is adhered to the film substrate. The powder 1 includes, for example, spherical powders such as glass beads, silica beads, alumina powder, and crosslinked polystyrene beads and cut powders of glass fibers or carbon fibers, etc. The powder 2 is the powder having adhesive power and consist of a thermoplastic resin and is more specifically exemplified by hot melt adhesive resins consisting of polyester, nylon, vinyl acetate, etc. The high gap accuracy and improved durability are obtd. in this way without impairing the resilience which is the characteristics of the film.
