Abstract:
A METHOD IN AN ENZYMATIC REACTION FOR THE ISOMERIZATION OF GLUCOSE INTO FRUCTOSE, FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF FRUCTOSE FROM GLUCOSE OR GLUCOSE CONTAINING SOLUTION WHICH COMPRISES EFFECTING THE REACTION IN THE PRESENCE OF A BORATE COMPOUND.
Abstract:
DROPLETS OF AN AQUEOUS SOLUTION OR SLURRY CONTAINING A POTENTIALLY TACKY SUBSTANCE ARE SPRAYED OVER A POWDER BED OF A REFRACTORY MATERIAL PREHEATED TO ABOUT 200*C.700*C., WHILE PRECAUTIONS ARE TAKEN TO INSURE THAT THE DROPLETS DO NOT COMBINE. THE WATER IN THE DROPLETS THUS BOILS ON SAID POWDER BED, WITH THE RESULT THAT THE TACKY SUBSTANCE IN THE DROPLETS ENROBES PARTILCES OF POWDER WHILE THE WATER EVAPORATES. THE ENROBED PARTICLES GRADUALLY SOLIDIFY INTO POROUS GRAINS.
Abstract:
A PROCESS OF PREPARING 2,6,8-TRIMETHYL-4-NONANONE WHICH COMPRISES PASSING A SECONDARY ALCOHOL OR A MIXTURE THEREOF WITH THE CORRESPONDING KETONE THROUGH A BINARY CATALYST PREPARED FROM CHROMIUM OXIDE AND COPPER OXIDE OR A TERNARY CATALYST PREPARED FROM CHROMIUM OXIDE, COPPER OXIDE AND ZINC OXIDE AT FROM ABOUT 200*C. TO ABOUT 350*C.
Abstract:
A PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF A PHOTOROPIC HIGH MOLECULAR WEIGHT POLYMER COMPRISING REACTING THIONINE WITH AN N-HYDROXYMETHYL GROUP OF A POLYMER OF AN NHYDROXYMETHYL(METH)ACRYLAMIDE IN A DEHYDRATIVE CONDENSATION REACTION TO JOIN SAID THIONINE TO SAID POLYMER.
Abstract:
CARBON MONOXIDE IS BLOWN INTO MOLTEN SULFUR TO PRODUCE CARBONYL SULFIDE. THE CARBONYL SULFIDE SO PRODUCED IS BLOWN INTO ANHYDROUS HYDROGEN FLUORIDE WHERE IT IS ELECTROLYTICALLY FLUORINATED TO PRODUCE SULFUR HEXAFLUORIDE.
Abstract:
An apparatus for use in a gas laser having internal mirrors comprising an electric discharge tube, a cathode chamber operatively connected with one end of the electric discharge tube, an anode chamber operatively connected to the other end of the discharge tube, and two reflecting mirrors one mounted on the wall of the cathode chamber and the other on the wall of the anode chamber and aligned opposite one another in the direction of the axis of the electric discharge tube. An anode means forms the wall of the anode chamber and surrounds the other end of the electric discharge tube and varies the length of the anode chamber in the axial direction. Means are provided for varying the length of the anode means.
Abstract:
A solid state inductive device comprises either a sandwich of a N-type and a P-type semiconductor with an insulating layer therebetween, or a semiconductor and a plurality of metal strips with a dielectric layer therebetween. A current electrode is connected to the opposite ends of the semiconductor and interconnect the semiconductors in the first embodiment, the metal strips being angular to the direction of the electrodes in the second embodiment. The device forms an inductive reactance between the electrodes upon application of a magnetic field in an angular direction to a side of the device.
