Abstract: PURPOSE:To treat a wide range of org. materials in a short time by adding acids to waste liquid contg. org. materials to make the liquid acidic, adding H2O2 of the amt. corresponding to the content of the org. materials, mixing both and passing the liquid through a tower packed with metallic iron, ferro alloy or a mixture thereof. CONSTITUTION:Waste water contg. org. materials is first introduced into a reagent feeding tank A, and acids are added thereto to control the pH to , Fe , etc. in the tower as catalysts, by which the org. materials are decomposed quickly to H2O, and CO2. The waste water after the treatment is released through a pH control tank D, flocculating tank E, settling tank F, neutralizing tank G and releasing tank H.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To achieve the prevention of volatilization of chlorine and the stabilization of a hypochlorous acid solution during its storage by adding a strong alkali to the hypochlorous acid solution containing chlorine of 1-1,000 times the concentration of a standard solution so as to become of the specific concentration and storing said solution in an ultraviolet ray shielding vessel. CONSTITUTION:A strong alkali of NaOH or KOH is added to the hyprochlorous acid solution containing chlorine contents of 1-1,000 times, preferably about 100 times the concentration of the standard solution used for the purpose of measuring the residual chlorine of the time when chlorine is used for the treatment of city water or the like so as to become of the concentrations 0.1-1N and the resulted solution is put in an ultraviolet ray shielding storage vessel (preferably brown-colored polyethylene) and is thereby stored. Even after about 3 months, the concentration change is slight and the storage as a standard stock solution is feasible. At the time of its use, it is diluted to 1-1,000 times (preferably 100 times) and the solution may be used as a standard solution for residual chlorine meter without undergoing calibration and checking.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To avoid waste of measurement by preventing an accident such as error measurement due to abnormal operation of a unit, by providing a circuit which detect abnormality of a detection system including a pre-amplifier and that of other electric circuit system. CONSTITUTION:To the output of analog memory circuit M, dead zone circuit 7 and analog comparator circuit 6 are connected and when the output of analog memory circuit M exceeds the allowable range of a set standard voltage due to the abnormality of a detection system including pre-amplifier A1, analog comparator circuit 6 outputs an abnormal signal pulse. Further, digital comparator circuit 4 is connected to display circuit 3, and when electric abnormality without the allowable range occurs to a circuit following pre-amplifier A1, digital comparator circuit 4 outputs an abnormal signal pulse. Then, gate circuit 5 is provided to outputs of both comparator circuits 6 and 6 to display ''NO'' and ''GO''. In this way, an accident such as error measurement of this unit can be prevented.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a danger of coming-off of a measuring cable during measuring and to improve the operability by providing a means for sensing coming-off of a plug of the cable inserted into measuring terminals of + side and - side from the terminal. SOLUTION: Measuring cables 101, 102 are connected to a sample 200. Measurements are started, and whether the cables 101, 102 are effectively connected to measuring terminals 2, 3 or not is confirmed by a detection switch 4. If the connection is uncertain, an output control switch of a switching circuit 12 is opened with a high voltage controller, an output from a high voltage power source of a voltage circuit 11 is set to 0 V with the controller, and finished. If the connection is certain, the operation is advanced to a measuring operation. If the cables 101, 102 are drawn during the measuring, the switch 4 immediately detects it to turn off the switch of the circuit 12 with the controller, sets an output from the power source of the circuit 11 to 0 V and finished. Thus, even at the time of the coming-off of the cable, a danger is not affected to a measurer.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a stabilization determining processing time, and to shorten a calibration time as a result thereof.
SOLUTION: In this calibration method for a measuring instrument for conducting stabilization determination for a measured value and for conducting calibration processing, (a) stabilization determining processing with prescribed intervals is carried out based on a measured data even at the time of measurement, (b) calibration processing is carried out immediately at the time of calibration when stabilization is already determined as a result of the stabilization determining processing, and the stabilization determining processing is continued successively when an unstabilized condition is determined, to carry out calibration processing when stabilization is determined.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly assay in high sensitivity intracellular ATP for bacteria tests, etc., by subjecting a cell-contg. specimen to extraction with an ATP extractive reagent followed by adding a biochemiluminescent reagent to the resultant liquid extract to conduct a biochemiluminescence in the presence of an enzymatic reaction inhibition-suppressive reagent. SOLUTION: An ATP extractive reagent containing a surfactant (e.g. polyoxyethylene-10-octylphenyl ether) is added to a specimen containing cells (e.g. bacteria) to extract the ATP in the cells, and a luminescent reagent containing luctiferin and luciferase is then added to the resultant liquid extract to conduct a biochemiluminescence by enzymatic reaction, and based on the resultant luminescence, the ATP in the cells is assayed. In this intracellular ATP assay, the biochemiluminescence is conducted in the presence of an enzymatic reaction inhibition-suppressive reagent containing a silicone (e.g. dimethylpolysiloxane) to suppress the inhibition of the enzymatic reaction for the biochemiluminescence by the extractive reagent, thus quickly assaying in high sensitivity the target intracellular ATP for bacteria tests etc.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a method to discriminate a wrapping-material of a different type of plastic easily and rapidly without depending on a manual selection by an operator in observing the appearance of the wrapping material to determine whether the wrapping material of a different type of plastic is included in the stacked wrapping materials of a homogeous material after supplying the stacked wrapping materials of an identical type of plastic, for example, for eggs, to a discrimination step. CONSTITUTION: When a PET pack is given as a wrapping-material of a target plastic and a PVC or PS pack is given as a wrapping material of a different type of plastic, for example, for stacked egg packs, the stacked egg packs are irradiated with light, and the absorbance (b) at particular wavelengths of 1.675, 1.738μm for PET and PVC and the absorbancne (a) at a wavelength of 1.550μm other than the former, are measured using the absorption spectrum of an infrared ray obtained from the transmitting light. In addition, if j>=2 is satisfied after j=c/i, the ratio of c=b-a and i=h-a is sought, it is interpreted that there is no inclusion of a pack of a different type of plastic.
