    Abstract: Flexible foams based on polyisocyanate polyaddition products are produced by reacting polyisocyanates with compounds which are reactive toward isocyanates in the presence of catalysts, blowing agents and, if desired, flame retardants, auxiliaries and/or additives, wherein polyether polyalcohols (c) which are obtainable by addition of alkylene oxides onto substances containing active hydrogens are used as substances which are reactive toward isocyanates, where, in a first stage, at least one substance (a) containing 2 or 3 active hydrogens is reacted with at least one alkylene oxide in the presence or absence of catalysts, subsequently at least one substance (b) which contains at least four active hydrogens and, if desired, further catalyst is added to the reaction mixture from the first stage and this mixture is then reacted in a second stage with at least one alkylene oxide.

    Abstract: In a process for the production of polyether-polyol prepolymers by reacting H-functional starters with alkylene oxide (AO) in presence of catalyst at elevated temperature, the reaction is continued until the content of unsaturated compounds is not more than 0.01 meq/g, and the residual AO content does not exceed 5 wt.% (based on prepolymer). A process for the production of polyether-polyol prepolymers by reacting H-functional starting materials (HFS) with alkylene oxide (AO) in presence of anionic or cationic catalysts and optional H-functional co-initiators and/or inert solvent at 60-160 deg C and 0.1-1.0 MPa, in which reaction is continued until the content of unsaturated compounds is not more than 0.01 meq/g, while the content of residual AO during the reaction does not exceed 5 wt.% (in each case based on prepolymer). Independent claims are also included for: (a) A process as described above, followed by further stage(s) of addition reaction with more AO, optionally after adding more HFS; (b) prepolymers obtained by this process; and (c) polyether-polyols obtained by reacting the prepolymers with more AO, optionally after adding more HFS.

    Abstract: Isocyanate-reactive compound with at least 90% sec. OH groups is prepared by reacting triols with propylene- or butylene-oxide. Isocyanate-reactive compound has a hydroxy number of 600-1000, 2.5-3.0 OH groups on average of which 90-100% are sec. groups, is prepared by reacting compounds with three OH groups with propylene oxide or butylene oxide.     Abstract: Reaction of acidified saccharide with an alkaline reagent and an alkylene oxide results in surface etherification or partial alkoxylation of the saccharide, whereby cleavage and side reactions are avoided. Combination of the alkoxylation product with sugar-based polyetherpolyol gives foamed polyurethane of increased heat resistance and profile stability on storage and decreased shrinkage. Compact or cellular oligo- and/or polysaccharide containing polyurethane is prepared by reaction of (a) high molecular compounds having at least two reactive H with (b) organic and/or inorganic modified organic di- and/or polyisocyanates; (c) a chain lengthening- and/or crosslinking agent; (d) a propellant; (e) catalysts; and (f) adjuvants. The high molecular compound (a) comprises (wt.%): (a1) saccharide containing compounds (1-100) and (a2) at least one polyol (0-99), relative to the total weight of (a). The saccharide containing compound (a1) comprises (wt.%): (a11) an alkoxylation component (1-99) and (a12) a polyoxyalkylenepolyol (1-99) of an oligo- and/or polysaccharide, relative to the total weight of alkoxylation component (a11), defined and prepared as below. Independent claims are included for: (1) An oligo- and/or polysaccharide alkoxylation component obtained by reaction of (wt.%): (a111) at least one oligo- and/or polysaccharide product (5-70) of pH 3.5-6 with (a112) an alkylene oxide (20-94.9), (a113) an alkali (0.1-10), relative to the total weight of alkoxylation component; (2) an oligo- and/or polysaccharide containing polyurethane prepared as above; a (3) shaped polyurethane parts obtained as above;
